host of countdown

Allrighty then. Well, what can i say, didn't know the old bugger, but maybe he's hosting a heavenly choir top 10 list now-a-days.

Not that i believe in that, but it's not the point.

Must admit I was a little shocked at the news. Only 61.

I was never a Countdown fan, but I'm sure he'll be missed by many

RIP

/salute

He only lived 2 streets away from me and was exactly the same way in person as he was on Countdown..............a proper Yorkshireman with no "airs or graces". :(

Bless him, i was always quite fond of him he seemed to be a really nice chap when we heard it on brekkie news this morning me and the bf were both like Noooo.

rather funny little story about him was when he was being interviewed on radio 2 they called him twice nightly whitely and he chuckled and said "well no its more like once yearly nearly"

tbh dont think count down will ever be the same with out him RIP

Will seem strange having someone else host Countdown

Ester Ranzen (Thats Life) would be good. I think changing to a woman presenter would work fine. Or Bamber Gasgoine (ex University Challenge).

Don't mind who - as long as its not Paul O-Grady or Graham Norton (both of whom I can't stand)

Jim Bowen eh ? Super smashing great !

This is the man who asked one of the Bullseye contestants "What is the capital City of France in Paris" !

Just imagine the Countdown Conundrum: "OK you've got 30 seconds to guess the 9 letter world butterfly"

I think C4 can do better than that. One more IQ point and Jim Bowen could bark. Get someone at least with some of his/her cerebral cortex working ;p
