Sounds like the royal bank of scotland sending me a letter telling me I should sign up for their exciting new under 15s account, despite the fact I'm 19 and have been on the under 21s account for a couple of years. The bigger the organisation the more retarded they get.

Duel servers
Ya man, someone fix those blasted duel servers, often find resorting to the tdm servers for duel games since they don't appear to suffer the same pl as the duel servers do. Map wise, I don't care about the FFA, just remove ultrav, its too yellow and spammy.

afaik the duel servers lag because they run on elvis (weaker cpus than spike) which also hosts the laggy mod known as clan arena (and god knows how many q2 servers as well no doubt).

Thats just ridiculous though QW is class, they should host the duel servers on seperate machine all together, and multiply their existance by 10 - that would be if we were 2 or 3 years backwards in time...
Instead, why can't they be moved to spike? surely QW servers are the most resourceless server applications running on those machines. I mean, 1-4mhz per player required compared to the 15-18mhz required per player for q3/hl servers?
The way forward is QW. And HobNobs. And Sheep Dip.

well elvis and spike are both OLDsk00l bw servers, ie p2's. if anything gets moved, best bets would be onto one of the newer dual-p3 boxes like maxwell(ffa) or archroy(qizmo).
If stuff ever did get moved personally I think 2 (decent) servers would be sufficient for QW, one hosting tp/ffa and the other duel/arena, with a qizmo on each. running 2 qizmos on the same box rather defeats the object imo, since if the box goes down it takes both qizmos with it
Sadly the people in charge of running the QW servers dont really play the game seriously any more if at all (not a criticism, just a fact), and so probably arent up to speed on the latest developments (server configs, mods, maps etc) and so things arent always configured exactly as we would like. I've got a lot of ideas on what would be an ideal (but still realistic) setup for QW @ BW, maximising the potential of limited resources available....

either that or you ask them to makes changes and they do not. Either way as long as you accept that QW will be treated as a dead game and never be properly supported then everyone is happy

If QW was dead, then why would there be people complaining about its lack of support at barrysworld?
The dead deserve respect, and thats what QW should receive. If not you'll get more unhappy people at the prospect of 2 players hogging a tp server just to play a nice stable duel, with them badgering those 2 to go play in a duel server but they respond 'nah these servers are better'.
A remedy must be sought, otherwise QW might have a stunted rebirth Its not just divine inspiration that will make QW raise from the grave Oh what a prophecy!
