my mum smokes, i wish she didnt but it helps her from what i can she when shes stressed but thats not an excuse really
gratz for quitting, i dont really have that much experience but my mum smokes less if were out somewhere like walking, try getting a new hobby that will take up ur time so ur not thinking about smoking

Now a proper post. I find the whole discussion about smoking very interesting.

Im gonna join in on this too and make a 'proper post'. Read the conclusion at buttom if you cba to read the rest of it, though would be appreciated.

Ok so you all know first im 17 (wow arnt I lucky?) so my experience is very limited but heck I think ive had alot alrdy.

I agreed with what Eggy says about school, it always seems the people who smoke are the skivers, the junkies, whatever.. They will skip class and go smoke, resulting in their grades going down. But hey, they choose to do it so why stop them? They will only regret it later.

My mum and dad have smoked all of MY life, I never asked if they have before. I live in close quarters with my mum coz im in the house most of the time and she is most likely smoking.

Ofcourse there is a reason for my mum smoking and I think it be this. Coz of my dad. I believe that is why she started smoking but I dont really know. My dad died because he smoked so much when I was 9 and man I hate him for doing it to him self, but ofcouse I still love him.

Because of that happening in my life when I think about my mum smoking I always wish she would quit, and it brings me down alot Ok some say its hard, some say its not, its different for every person, but hell do I really want what happened to my dad to happen to her? Fuck no.

My mums the best (I believe) all I hear from the guys I hang around with is this and that about their mum not allowing them out, their mum being tight about taking them anywhere all that crap. What does my mum do? I walk out the door she shouts "Where you going?" I reply "Out, cya later" and thats the end of it, no questions about it and the only thing that I need to do is if im staying out really late to txt her and tell her.

Ive tried smoking myself (idiot I am) about 5 times but ive never been stuck to it, I just dont see how you can be? (No offence). My dad also drank so that sorta contributed to his death and so does my mum. My mum says she doesnt do both as much as my dad did, but still I worry about her, wouldnt you worry about your parents? (Maybe not if you dont have the same type of relationship).

I sappose its easy for me, ima Christian so I dont drink or smoke and neither do any of my m8s so im not pressed into anything. But like everyone else I live in an environment where people smoke in public places. And tbh I think its a disgrace that people will sit in a room and smoke around others who hate it. Its just plain rude, go the fuck outside and stop killing other people as well as yourself, please?

My mum did give up at one point for like 6months and I was so proud of her, I didnt tell her often but I did once or twice. And now shes back on it I can see why once again coz of how her life is going. No husband so she raises me and my sister alone, just sold her business coz it didnt give enough income and was in the red most of the time. But man do I just wish she would stop again, which she has said she wants to do, I dont want to lose my mum and end up parentless, espeically since my mum lets me do alot of my own stuff and never asks about it.

Conclusion: Smoking sucks. Tbh I wish the UK would bring in the rule like in Ireland that your not allowed to smoke in public places. If they dont, go outside wont you please? and spare other people their lives.
