Awesome book, good luck chum!

Maybe if this doesn't work go to one of the courses that Carr started, they are meant to be good.

Just don't buy fags! It's that simple. If you have no fags to smoke you cannot smoke.

It's not though.

It has to be "you and none of your friends, relatives, co-workers or people you meet in bars don't buy smokes" ;)

Quitting guys, stick with it! You WILL feel better once you've kicked it! I managed it, so can you!

Spoken like a man with no mates...
I have a lot of mates who smoke and they usually have the gall to winge at me for not going with them to go outside for a smoke. I usually have a quick but significant look at the freezing rain they're going to stand in and then order another beer for myself to enjoy while they're out freezing their tits off. I call it the new camaraderie: I quit smoking 12 years ago and stood about in pubs for 11 of those years surrounded by smokers and never complained once. I'm cashing in on that good will atm, and have no sympathy for wingers even though I once smoked.

That's not what I meant. I was replying to the rather fatuous "don't buy 'em, then you can't smoke 'em" line. Every time fell off the wagon it wasn't by going out and buying a packet of fags, it was by pinching cigs off my friends when I was pissed.

The good news is that I seem to have crossed some kind of smoking Rubicon; very few people I socialise with actually smoke any more; the ban has probably had a more profound effect in the UK and Ireland than anywhere else, simply because the weather is so fucking bad. One winter of standing out in the sleet and wind seems to have dented the enthusiasm of all but the die-hards.

It's payback for the times people winge at people FOR smoking, some people can't help but to stick their nose in other peoples aholes :D

Oh yeah, you traitor!

Real mates don't let you smoke when you've told them you're quitting. Nicely judged from utterly nothing, practically all of my friends smoke and the girlfriend I live with also smokes. It really is as simple as not letting fags be in your possession and having an ounce of willpower. Sure, it's not the most comfortable or easiest thing to do in the world, but it's hardly like shaking a crack habit. Take some responsibility in your quitting. No wonder so many people fail to quit if they see it as an impossible mountain that has to be climbed.

Man up to yourselves if you want to quit. If you don't want to quit then smoke away. Just don't fucking bitch and whine like a three year old because you want to quit smoking but just went and bought fags.

Nicotine and caffeine are the worlds most addictive drugs apparently.

Funny how the old school drugs still hold up against the new fangled ones isn't it.

Unfortunately Trem that information is true, but irrelevant since what matters most is the potency and method of intake in severity of addiction. While the substances are very addictive, the amounts we get of them and the method we get them in compare nothing to the heroin and cracks of the world.
