So i have a radeon HD 6870 sitting in a box that i used on my old PC, the new one has a 650 GTX and seems to be doing it's job reasonably well, as in i can run all games with at least most settings on max.

Now according to this comparison the 6870 theoretically kicks the 650 by quite a lot, but is it enough to be worth the bother to install it?

What do you expect if you throw more than double the power at it?
The Radeon burns through 151W while the 650 uses 64W. Yet the performance boost is only in the region of 50-60%, so is it really "better"? I'd be content with getting similar performance with less power.

Well i decided to give it a try this morning, but didn't run it long enough to see any real difference because the PSU fans went nuts and it was probably about to overheat (it's only 430W)...

I don't quite feel like starting over with the upgrade bullshit quite yet so i'l just chuck it in a closet for now or give it to my brother in law.
