hectic keep seiges...(i.e when inside the central keep) a clerics job usually involves sitting on a FoP, out of LoS and constantly, repetedly, repetitively ressing/healing like theres no tomorrow

does being prime mezzers AND healer cause problems ? i.e. expected to do both, end up doing one over the other, and getting shouted at if it all goes wrong :(

just trying to think of some reasons why mids have it so tough now. This maybe a contributing factor. Clerics lack this extra utility, thus i.e. giving them more time to concentrate on just healing, where as a healers time is "split" between two important jobs. shit aint even mentioned buffing, both classes gotta do that too !

Basically I don't think mids lack in this area seeing as most of the groups walk with 1 pac healer and 2 aug healers (correct me if I am wrong).
The aug healers have basically the same playing style as a Cleric also mostly the same spec while the pac healer is mainly there for CC and heals if it's really getting messy.

Savage Conclave guildgroup have always runned in a 2 healer setup since we started the regular group some months back - 1 pac 1 aug. Me being the paccie I can say that yes, it can indeed be a very stressfull job. I cant count the times where I have to choose from healing a group member or try do some CC and one way or the other it would mean dead to one in the group. Its hard as in you have to stay very focussed on the combat itself and have the "overview" and in the same time be fully alert on your groups health. Luckily for me, I run with a very nice "co-driver" in our aug healer, Baldgrim :)

Oh and if anyone starts to whine about my drivingskills, cc or heals then I'll just offer them that we can easily try and swap for a night and see how they perform ;) That usally shuts them up.

2augers is a waste, 2 paccers is what you run if u run 3 healers, which isnt the case all the time now since it means giving up other utility like skald or a nuker

Krafiks,

You weren't moaning about me and your driving skills.

Its because of you I have my Maddening Scalars on, since we always seem t o get a good slice of PVE action on a trip out :)

I think Baldgrim is a worse back sit driver ... with the comment ... "There seem to be flames x, x and x, so why are we driving in the wildeness".

You have to tip pe toe around Krafiks when he lost a Mez competition ... boy does he snap you head off :)

You will rarely, rarely be able to cc as a healer inside the inner tower when sieged - we are outranged by almost any other caster class one way or another. Personally, I spend most of my time healing, ressing and rebuffing, keeping an eye on DI. If, and only if my group has two healers, I can try to duo with some caster and /assist stun, but it's a risky job, as most of the times I end up bolt mezzed and dead after.

My old mid group ran with 3 healers

One pac/mend
One mend/pac (for backup cc and 100% rez)
and one aug/mend for celerity ofc

All three healers should mainly concentrate on healing, however if there are not many attackers then the paccer can go about trying to CC the attackers i suppose.

However i don't think the responsibilities of a healer have much to do with why mid are struggling.

No, not really, healers are innocent ... 1.70 for mids is by far the worst patch, I'd say since when the game went live but I wasn't here, so I say since SI. There isn't a single, glaring macro reason why it is so, more a sum of too many/too little details. As a mid, you could have the impression that ToA+NF was built around our weaknesses while neutering our strong points - all game becoming ranged, all insta cc losing 99% importance, all tanks disappearing, no siege classes, etc.

Everyone is free to think that we need to learn to zerg or, as Requiel said, to adapt to NF .... fact is, we play for fun + sieges for mids are 0% fun = we do something else ...

mid is hardly less suited for keep battles than alb, is quite equal imo

Spell it...

T-H-E-U-R-G-I-S-T

and

B-O-L-T-R-A-N-G-E C-C

just thought I would mention it :p

Dont mind either way, as I prefer stealth battles, which wasnt really nerfed that hard in NF, only fair that archers get decent detection ;)

Everyone should roll a warden!

Our job in keep defense is stand inside a fop to get power, then chase whoever's taking damage through 3 towers to heal.

Edit: As Foadon just pointed out we need to press 3 buttons every 10 minutes as well or sorcs and theurgs twoshot the un-SCed RR2s in our groups.
