Question about Wirless Ad-Hoc?

I've got a wirless network (linksys 54G) up and running using a main server and an access point using an infrsturcture (sry sp), but the problem is I've installed a new machine on the other side of the site, and it can not pick up the wirless network but if I put it on Ad-Hoc I pick up one of the PC's connected up to the Wirless network. Is there anyway I can get this new machine (win me) to connect to the network through ad-hoc, or will I have to buy a Booster of some kind.
