Question about new patch files..

I know this is premature as the patch has not even been released, and this question may well get answered "officially" later. I also say sorry if this topic has been covered in another thread.. anyway..

At the start up you now have the option to download the new patch files for DR, Cata, ToA New and ToA.

My main question is..

Does installing the DR file (when its time) cover me on ToA also? or do I need to install ToA AND DR to get the benefits on both? I some times run ToA when I want the PC to run faster, but dont want to miss out on the patch upgrades and I have no idea if the ToA file was made for people without DR or if you need it regardless.

Also.. what is the difference between the "New" ToA file and the normal one?

Yes, you'd want both, if you want to have a fast patching on patch day on both. (The only reason to download now is so it's faster later).

They'll install different files, and you have two seperate directories for Camelot.

I'd guess the New TOA is the new 'basic' one for people who've not bought the expansions, the recently downloable version.

New ToA is the upgrade to New SI - ToA with Catacombs graphics engine that was released when Goa stopped supporting SI. I don't think you can get the client as a standalone at the moment however people who had the New SI client before could upgrade to New ToA.

tried to find this new toa client for last month now without success. I asked RN about it and they said to check news for updates when its done but nothing so far. I find it very amusing they releasing updates for a version that dosnt exist

<ahem> change your darkness/catacombs/atlantis to newatlantis in your update.dat and ..... oooo magic.

(of course your previous client will no longer exist then - and it's best to do this with a normal ToA client. Be prepared for a big download though).
