The Queen has launched her own channel on the video-sharing website YouTube.
The Royal Channel will feature her Christmas Day message, and has recent and historical footage of the monarch and other members of the Royal Family.

The launch marks the 50th anniversary of the Queen's first televised festive address in 1957.

The palace said it hoped the site would make the 81-year-old monarch's annual speech "more accessible to younger people and those in other countries".

Assuming the Queen has to approve the YouTube content, I wonder if she bothers checking out other content on YouTube. And wider, to other internet sites.

i actually watched her speech today, did a nice bit about the guys and gals in the forces made me think about them and i guess that was the whole point of the thing. On the whole the old baked bean isnt so bad, i quite like her. Wish she'd smile a bit more though, they showed the ending of her first broadcast 50 years ago and she gave a right good grin at the end and looked really pretty.
