Well have not played Q2 for a few months now after moving onto the ever popular CS but have ventured into it again of late .

Well nothing much seems to have changed it is still an excellent game spoilt by one thing LAME POWER ups .
The good old BFG is one thing but i can put up with that cos its easy to get out the way of but the quad no way especially when the same llamas time it on ffa
Yeah i hear you say just part of the game but after camping its the one thing that ppl bitch about most on the servers and anyone who thinks any other just drop into Fusters .
Ban quad you know it makes sense

I agree i don't like them crappy timers, but it's not hard to count to 30 in your head is it? If your having problems with a certain player, just cam him for a game, and you should be able to make out his route. When you have his route, just get yourself in his way a couple of times, it will throw him off his game. Thats if your better than him

amazing that we STILL have this conversation after all these years
i used to be one o them that said "dont spawn kill" "dont bfg" etc etc.till quite recently i got a team from our clan to play in the savage q2dm leagues.OMG! now that was an eye-opener!
on that you play to win, as a team, and quad control is one of the most important aspects of that .
now q2 is still prolly the game i play most even after 3 years,but these days i play to practice winning , nothing else.
and if i can get the quad all the time, well sorry but i will

Er no actually.
However, it is part of the game and there to be used. I don't time it or go for it as a matter of course, but if it's there I take it obviously.

Other maps they're easy as an essexgirl to take out.

I dont have a problem with power ups at all, they are part of the game. The one thing i hate is lame idiots who just run around using the chaingun and nothing else. What? I hear you say, surely thats part of the game too?

Maybe so but someone glancing at you and taking off 100's of health in a split second requires, 1) very little skill and 2) a low ping. I play the game to have fun, but this attitute of win at all costs (using as little skill as possible) just plain gets on my nerves.


Also whats going on with ra2 these days, thats a game of honour and skill. All that happens today is people put on damage scoring and rack up the "frags" (heh yeah right) with the chaingun, its fucking disgraceful, and a big big shame.

Thats quite enough for one letter.

Thats why i prefer playing on the Italian and German servers they don't even use cg let alone DS

Haha, well i had the same problem when is started to play CTF on public server. I totally pissed of when somebody had quad and AMP and PS and he strafes into ya base
But, when i played 1 game for AFC i realised how important powerups are in CTF!

But have to admit, quad is quite lame in FFA games.....that's why i always get it!

If you can't beat um mad c join um. I know many people good with the old rail on modems, just as i knew many peeps on pings that were shite with it. Can't you just except that some people are just better with things than others
If you still have that chip on your sholder then go play Cs DoD or something. The player models in these games more at a 1/4 of the pace of quake models in full flight, and are 10 times easier to hit.
these games brings out the 'real' point and click in people
