Qiz 2.9

Just me or are other ppl having probs when using bw compression with qiz2.9-qiz2.9??
I am getting higher pings and a lot higher pl on all my dialups...didn't get these probs with v2.8...infact 2.8 was the best thing to happen to my qw play, cut my ping by average 10-15ms.
Almost as annoying is my reg'n it 2 days b4 2.9 release...no point at all.

Yep I've had real trouble with it. Usually it won't conenct properly, just bringing up the disconnected icon, and when it finally does, it takes ages to get into the game and has a 500ms ping (on ISDN). I haven't tried it without compression yet.

Incidentally that same dialup to the same (bw) ffa server had no trouble with nitro or straight glqwcl.exe -> server with no proxy, which points to a qizmo problem.

Hmm, cause Qizmo has had a bigger effect on Quake than iD (since qizmo was released anyway).

you can now use compression both on your connect and in demos which is surely reason enough to register it.

Higher rate and higher fps without the worry of flooding your connect is certainly worthwhile in my mind.
