dunno on what "free" expansion or big patch is working mythic but on my opinion is about time too get "realistic" drop system
i mean a wolf cant drop money/waeponds etc only skins done meat
and money item drop just from "humanoid" mobs

a drop update will be good on my opinion

So... burning people with lionheads should realistically drop what? And mermaids with tridents in their hands? And if you´re on the realilstic trip: would a piece of armour dropped by a goblin fit your char? Or a giant drop?

Just forget it, dude. This is a fantasy game, not an attempt to create a realistical environment. People throwing fireballs from their hands aren´t realistic either, still it doesn´t bother you or the gameflow.

This issue is really really really old, but, it's part of the gameplay and hard to do otherwise.

Err, you can map the jump button to wherever you like. Mine is in fact bound to the spacebar. /keyboard ftw

I think you missed my point completely. I don't want a 100% realistic game because I have real life already for that. Not too sure what rest of your point is, there are a variety of simulation board and computer games if you want a realistic picture of old England.

If it was based on historical old "ingland", then you would only have melee classes and wizzy's would be burned at the stake, it would take you 15 years in order to get up to apprentice in crafting, and when you went into RvR the king would leach Your Rp's and then steal all your gold, before going home and F$%^ing your wife/husband/goat (sometimes all three in wales).

The merchant explorers would tax you at 80%, and when you logged off it would lose 50% durability, your house would be regulary burned down by rampaging mobs (chavs) because your consignment merchant gave them a funny look , clerics (being educated) would be the only ones to use chat, and charge you 500g per heal.

also armsman would be usefull....

Am i sure Old ingland wolf dropped axe and money? nope not sure, just as i am not sure camelot existed...

Well, if you want a reason why a wolf could drop gold, look at it like this - The wolf doesn't drop cash, but he drops materials that you can sell. DAoC just makes it easier for you by giving you cash directly instead of making you lug carts full of wolfbits back to the merchant.

Weapons might be found near the wolf 'cause the last guy that attacked the wolf lost. Same for the cash. To some extend I like realism, but not too much. Imagine what the world of DAOC would smell like.

(No outhouses in any of the cities. Guess where the leave that stuff? Camelot has a sewersystem but no toilets, Jordheim has neither, and I don't want to thing what the Hibs do to get rid of it. Not to mention that the wildlife would be erradicated in a matter of days and everyone would starve.)

my point was when you kill a mob imo you should be able to skin it and get leather, with this you can craft.

my example about the space bar being jump was that this is an integral function of any game.

if i say "yeah have leather drop from mobs" ppl will say "stfu dont steal ideas from wow"

im trying to explain that this is something all games could do...

Exactly.

Popa,

Your idea is a sane one, however...

Camelot, the round table, etc, is all legend. None of it was proven, so none of it is real.

Nowhere when i 'lucked at old ingland' in the trailer did it say, 'Based on old Ingland - where its all real or should be'. Btw I live in ENGLAND, not 'Ing' and its look, not luck. I understand you're not english, so consider this a minor english lesson ;)

My opinion of having a wolf drop a wolf skin is : at lower levels it happens 'realistically' on some mobs, but as someone else says for practicality, money is bypassing the selling stage, which makes all the sense in the world to me, as it reduces my time running about to NPC's

you can salvage any of the random "sell loot" items (like hides and stuff, rat's tails etc.) - gives you craft materials.

there's some they've missed but they've pretty much made everything salvageable.

I would be upset if I ever played a MMORPG where I can't get swords from killing small rats. :(

Maybe it's a wolf in ant's clothing?
