PvP is comiiiiiiiing!!!!!!!

Well it seems the PvP server is coming finally in mid-October, and tho i dont know if i will still be playing (looking at last patches i dont like this much and AC2 is near), im wondering if we can do some kind of common force with the ppl playing in this server, some kind of <Excalibur> guild or maybe an alliance with the top guilds on the server (i would like to play with some feckin hibs i know).
What do u think of this idea? let me know any suggestion =)

This pisses me off, I left to US, becuase of the PvP servers,
and other Minor reasons,

About 2 months later, the US servers are now getting back on there feet, and the PvP servers are slowly dieing,

I move to Europe, Now there going to make a PvP server here,

yeah, and now you can do all the 'honourable dueles' you want, and publically announce your attacks in advance to give a sporting chance, and never kill a grey, and always offer your loot to someone else, and of course, everything will be good.

Frankly, I'll be happy to leave behind all the people who take the game too seriously, as it seems to be those who fit into the non-'l33t assholes' category.

I think most people who post on these forums in these types of discussion take the game seriously.

I take the game seriously because I like it and want to see it succeed. That doesnt mean I don't have fun. I do have fun, and will continue to enjoy the game with or without the PvP server

I will try it, but can't see i'll stay long, too many griefers will go there imo.

What i ment to say is, I moved from the US, becuase the PvP servers were released,

Now after 2 months in europe, PvP servers are comeing out here,

When the PvP server is released here I will never return to ordinary server. I see them as training grounds - aka n00b training.
The major reason for me is that sux starting later than others - I'm gimped when my enemies have RR5+ abilities.

Err Fellas ??? Aren't you all a tad deluded?

Fact: Germans and French server populations outnumber English ones by about a 3:1 ratio.

Fact: Germans and French will want to play PvP to (particularly Germans in my experience).

Fact: German online gamers (not all, I hasten to add) are the lamest PK'ers on God's green earth. And I've played enough different OL games to judge this.

Fact: Germans dont have a sense of humour.

Conclusion: Get used to learning a different language for open channels and prepare to be dominated by shear numbers.

Don't read this as an anti-German post. I got some good mates over there I went to school with a long time ago in South Africa. Its just the German online gaming community in general have a slightly less ethical approach (read as lame or ruthless or whatever) and coupled with a crap sense of humour it doesn't make for a good combination on a PvP server. Trust me on that, I've been there a few times

PS Can't comment on the French (although the foods good). But they still hold it against us (the Limeys that is) for the humiliation of Agincourt, Creci, Waterloo etc etc ad infinitum...

I've been gaming OL for 6 years or sth, played almost all FPS games til daoc tho, can't say i've had the same experiences with whole races of people online... tho the 1337 pk attitude seems to come mostly from swedes (or is that just NP )

PvP isn't all its cracked up to be..u kill 1 person and they hunt u for hours apon hours getings tedious...u get exp killed,ress killed, daily if u want exp via mobs either do it in a big grp or sum where safe cus solo is defiantly not

when pvp server opens people will go: "omg im gonna roll a sb/inf/etc. and pwn anyone on the pvp server, damn im gonna be uber!111!!!11!"

then 1 week later after twenty tons of ganking they will be crying, realizing they are not uber enough.

another week later 75% will be back on the normal servers. i see people daily who doesnt even have a lvl 50 char saying they will roll an sb/inf on pvp and own everyone :| gl hf getting 50 on pvp if you cant do it on normal servers.

Don't get too attached to your characters on a PvP server ... lots of ppl end up having to delete them because they end up with too little CON. Constant deaths mean running out of cash to buy back CON.

Just hope it doesnt turned into a: "XXX says something in a language you don't understand (think about it ) - so you shove your spear up his arse" type server.

One concern is server population. If too many people move over from the existing Euro servers, won't it be ever so slighty FPS unfriendly during peak hours? Havent had much joy analysing game dynamics on existing PvP's in the States at VN as most of the threads seem to be along the "I Ownz U" and "U Lamus Bastardus" theme

Im looking forward to PK'ing my countless friends on the german servers to, Better sence of humour than 98% of the people on Excalibur

Same here, problem is that there are no alliances on the pvp server I think, only non-written agreements. We could make a guild with the majority of the top guilds of 1 realm in it, and then have non-written agreements with the other realm guilds of exca. There is prolly a limit on howmuch player can be invited in a guild...

I have been told (perhaps wrongly) that alliances do exist...which is necessary when using PBAOE and AOE spells etc...otherwise you roast your own unintentionally. Also relics are guild owned, but unsure if alliances get benefit.
