PvE Duo, but not with casters

As topic says.. what would be the best duo for PvE, but not going for classes like eld/chanter/menta?

Thinking of hero + warden/druid/bard?
Maybe BM + some heal/buffchar, but which one would be best?
Or warden (with some melee spec) and bard/druid?

For the fastest lvling and most viable rvr toons I would go with BM/Bard or Hero/Bard. End makes leveling a melee soooo much easier. If you solo the whole way with semi decent equipment it will take 5-6days played.

And as for hero, which spec would be best for lvling? Was thinking about final spec like 50 LW, 42 shield, not too high weap and some parry, but which would be best for lvling?
...I kinda prefer hero for it's luri'ness

Doesnt really make that much difference. They are played slightly differently but are both easily excepted into RvR groups.

I would say for solo xping to go max LW max Parry. With a bard you will plow through orange/reds in no time. When you hit 40 respec out of parry and raise shield instead with whatever you want left over in parry.

If you are going to be grouping alot then max Shield, 2/3 Weapon and rest in parry. Once you hit 40 respec weapon to LW.

You have to keep in mind your end template so that you dont raise parry too high in either as you can only respec one skill at 40.

For RvR the final template you mention is pretty standard and a good one to use.

I can't wait to play mine in RvR, non /stick and /non assist of course!

They certainly have a role to play outside of the /assist train interupting and killing casters/healers.

I would suggest shield/blade/parry hero and bard. I did this with my old bard and a hero friend, and we chain killed oranges/reds. Get fek all downtime from this, but killing is a little slower than LW specced heroes. But LW spec heroes get hit more, so bard has to heal more, so u need to rest more.

U could always aim for 40 shield, 39 blades, 6 parry for level 40, then respec for 50 LW, 42 or 50 shield, etc. could not bother respeccing and go for 50 LW, 42shield, 39 blades, 6 parry

Well, we're going to try the duo first on Pryd and see what it's like... if we really enjoy playing them we might go Exc, since Pryd is sucky rvr and all

Agree :/ ... if people wants a dmg dealer, they'll invite a BM instead, at least spec the class properly for it's function in a group.

But isn't dmg from 1-hander and blockrate from shield really poor at lvl 20?

Anyway, from other posts here I get to the conclusion that for RvR I should go s/s for hero or rather go BM?

I would say BM and Bard
S/S Hero's are good, but the dmg is pants, at least with BM you can do a decent bit of damage in a short time.

If your looking to duo to 50, you want somethng that kills fast with minimal downtime.
Hero would probably have 0 dt but will take alot longer to kill.
Bm would prob have very little dt, due to high evade rate and parry, but will hit alot harder than the Hero.

Either way you will probably need a druid bot as well, spec buffs make alot of diff to tanks.

Correct. You're stuck on relying on other peoples benevolence; 99.9% of all hibs wants a profit for themself, else they ain't gonna bother lifting a finger for ya ;p

... or, borrow/buy/level a chanter/menta from somewhere and put your alt into fins grp
