Mate of mine has one. It fucking rocks. If you can, get one. Sell your mother if you have to.

I've had my US PSP for 2 months or so now and, whilst games like Ridge Racers, Lumines and Densha de Go are excellent fun, I have actually found myself using the PSP for watching films and, more recently, playing SNES, Megadrive and PC Engine games on emulation!

Considering how early in the life the emu scene is, it is very impressive.

Hopefully they can get the MAME emu running at a decent speed soon.

Emus and homebrew stuff from here:

Includes a running version of Quake.

BTW: the hackers have now got a bootable full version (with sound) of Lumines running off Mem Stick. It looks like Sony are in for a heap of trouble if they don't plug the firmware loopholes as more self booting games are likely to come.

Maybe Ono, but it wont last.

Chances of the Euro launch not having this fixed are basically 0.
Chances of the next 'big' game not requiring an updated firmware with this fixed are again 0.

If Im wrong Ill buy one :D

How can a game require a firmware update of a portable console? It seems silly to expect that.

The firmware will be included on the UMD disc. Sony are already doing this on the latest games.

Hard to play i the sun. Screen shows nothing basicly. And the big downside...it's big! Hardly an easy carry on.

Had a Jap one since Feb and still loving it. Lumines is one of the best game sever created so addictive. I bought Wipeout Pure, Ridge Racers and Puzzle Bubble as well. But I am mainly using it for movies and film clips at the mo.
