The rumour mill is churning furiously in the "Land of the Free". Apparently it is now possible to get your hands on a PS3 for $499.99. That's around £250 in the UK. I wouldn't go getting your hopes up though, as I doubt we'd see any price drop in the UK knock it below £350 
Microsoft are also in the news, but for different reasons. They've just had to shell out $1bn to extend every Xbox 360's warranty to 3 years. It seems they underestimated the heat output of one of the graphics chips and repaired systems are now coming back with a new heatsink. Peter Moore has even wrote a nice little letter apologising for the cock up
