PS2 Problem

recently my PS2 has run into a few difficulties. When i start up a game, the sound can go fuzzy (e.g. when theres a person speaking) which is an indicator that its gonna freeze anywhere from 2 minutes to 30 minutes time. It's got nothing to do with the cable connections and the problem fixes itself (usually) after i switch off the PS2 at the back and switch it on again.

As this country is absolutley crap, there's no real place i can go to get it fixed. Anybody run into this and, if so, know how to fix it?

Probably got dirt inside the box, try getting one of those compressed air cans & see if it can blow dust, etc out of the unit.

Anyway - what version PS2 is it?

The older models below SCPH-3000 IIRC had well known laser problems.

SCPH-30004 is the model number. Will try your idea mank

check the fan at the back, sometimes they stop werking, and need replacing.
