I got rid of my Playstations a while back. All I know is that Playstation emulators require the original PS CD - you won't be able to get Playstation games on ROM files. So for me, having got rid of all my games, I can't run any PS ems so haven't attempted to do so :)

i used to use a PS1 emulator a few years back, always worked fine for me, also was able to make image files of my games, and friends games and play them from the file rather than the CD.

look on mininova for ePSXe there should be one on there that has the bios and such already on, takes a little fiddling to get it working but there are plenty of guides around. it plays the isos that you can DL from the same site and also original ps1 disks.

edit mod can delete this if its agaisnt the rules etc :)

actually in most manuals it says you arent allowed to sell on your ps1 games, so unless they start making and selling PS1 games again everyone buying them off ebay or from game (if they still sell 2nd hand PS1 games) are breaking the law :)

edit: i am not even sure if it law, but that is for another thread :)

Play the real thing! Emulators suck, always better to play the real thing on a real console imo ^^

I've actually got my PS1 laying next to my TV full of dust and stuff, looks so cute compared to the PS2 =(

if i can i still play them on my PS2, it just feels wrong on the PC, even though i have an adapter so i can use the ps2 pad on the PC. Sometimes you just cant get hold of the games though so an iso is the only way.

ePSXe works rather well, seeing as I have the FF7 game but not the console (long story, dont ask! :D) its ideal for me.

AFAIK it can play from psx CD's as well as from ROM files.

I have my sega megadrive still, mainly for sonic 3 :D as well as a mega CD somewhere, just want sonic & knuckles and sonic CD now and i'm sorted :D

Mario Kart 64 - 4 player on Wario Stadium and you get Lightning - still one of the greatest moments of gaming power ever as your mates beg you not to set it off as they went over the jump :)

Wish I had never sold my 64 now :(

Still got most of my gaming machines. Megadrive and Mega CD (with the elusive Sonic CD), Saturn, Dreamcast. Yeah, a bit of a Sega fan, but I still liked games from other systems. Never was much of a Mario fan though. Mario 2 (which isn't even a Mario game) and Mario World I liked. Youshi's Island was good too.

Ah I remember psx emulators ;)

Games look beter on a PSX emulator than a PS1. (I remember comparing some racing and beat-em ups on the first PC emulators, shading and texturing is more accurate, higher resolutions can be achieved, etc)

One of my first jobs was working with PSX graphics library emulator code that had been reverse engineered from a set of manuals. A lot of code written for the first generation of PSX games was probably written and played on a PC before a PSX entered the building.
