So I think that finally daoc is dead to me. I might jump in some to get my zerk to 50, clean out my house, sell some stuff and maybe test out NF. There are a nr of reasons for this mainly
1. Prydwen RvR situation is tragic on the stealther side and not much better in nonstealther RvR. I think Caster is about the most boring char to play and right now its dark age of Castalot if your doing non stealther RvR.

2. Daoc is to hardcore these days = to time consuming to compete

3. GoA costumer supports = 0. Mostly im real angry I cant get a name change on my char. To me it really means alot GoA has the tools and it would probably take em 10sec-3min tops but all i get is a silly "Sorry wish we would do that in your case but since your not braking CoC we wont do it"

4. Most of my old friends have stopped playing and /gc who these days only tells me 1. Me 2. My BB. or 1. Me if my BB is anon

Ive been with daoc since beta with a short break off 2 months where I actually thought I could get away from it. The nr1 reason for leaving though is World of Warcraft. Currently stress testing it and loving. lvling isnt a grind, you dont sit down to regain mana/health 30% of your play time. Most of my playtime i wander around do some quest kill a few mobs and tada you have gained a lvl without even looking at the xp bar... oh and my friends are going WoW to and im sort of a Warcraft fan, have read 4 out of 6 books (just waiting to get my hands on the last 2 ones (war of the ancients trilogy)

For the rest of you thats staying with the game, have fun and remember its just a game. Part of my heart will always be with Pryd/Mid and specially my old guilds Warriors of the Mist and also Svea Ulvar wich I played in with Faravid/Boromir. To all my enemies out there well played and if anyone knows if my old nemesis Umilard (mr 100% solo minstrel  ) is out playing some plz give me a hint where to find him since I hope to settle a score with him before My acc runs out (about 1month left or so)

Yeah.. GoA's Costumer Support is pretty bad. My robe had a hole in it but they wouldn't give me a new one.. bastards.

Anyway, jokes aside, good luck!

WoW is just another DAoC wanna-be imo. It's time will come and go.

Just like EQ and the new EQ2

DAoC's time came and has gone. Shame people are still playing this and believing it might still have something to offer in the future besides new whines.

Congrats on leaving :)

You do realise EQ was actually out a long long long time before DAoC ?

WoW in my opinion does everything right that daoc got wrong. The class balance is good, the quests are actually fun, leveling doesnt feel like a grind, zones are interesting, class's are fun and group friendly and the pvp can be a blast. Nothing beats raiding a Horde town.

IMO the way camelot is going sucks... who wants to spend 30 hours killing crocs to get crocs tooth dagger to lev x to get weapon z when actually in RL there is like the pub to go to?. I think TOA has caused a major rift within.Because players are 1 :nerfed in rvr without TOA gear and 2: some cant be bothered to grind xp the artis,.I feel that its no wonder that the server numbers have dropped.Im seriously considering my auto subscription.....just my views

how can u tell all this about WoW from a beta ?

surely all low lvl and no one has seen higher bits etc and half the content isnt there etc etc

rose tinted glasses imo

Well, lots of high level people around in WoW, you clearly havent tested it or you would have knows :m00:

Im only low level myself, but see lots of high level peoples walking around on the servers on the odd hours (as it is US and I live EU) and well, the quests ARE better, the crafting is more fun! the characters fell more right! Basicly I have to agree, it got all the things right, will still be playing DAoC though, for a while anyway, DAoC and WoW is not entirely the same and WoW cant replace everything from DAoC, but it is surely not below DAoC in the entertainment value...

WoW is finished.
It has been in beta most of the year with no NDA. There have been lots of posts - some bad, some venemous but overall the reviews have been very good.
It will be released November 23rd in US.
The last stress test is now underway.
Its an 'open beta' although there is some limit on the number of keys that they will give out.
FilePlanet servers are maxxed out - 1,000 people downloading at the moment and a 6 hour queue!

Maybe the comment you quote was made through rose-tinted spectacles; your suggestion that the data to make the comment was way off.

no just going on experience of the last 3 years .. every time a new hyped mmorpg hits the streets ppl saying its soo good its gonna smash daoc it does everything perfectly .. then ppl come back a month into retail saying this is broken that is broken this is unbalanced... seems a lot of ppl get carried away with the fact it is new and the exploits of all the chars strengths and weaknesses have not yet been found .. the opt'd group setups havent been worked out and so you cant possibley say its balanced and does everything so much better

You mean what we all thought about daoc when its was brand new ? :m00:

WoW raids WoW quests WoW exp will all be BORING and a grind sooner or later. If WoW pvp system doesnt ROCK it will DIE cause so far there really aint any better pvp system than daoc.

Just that mythic tries to fukk it up at their best.

:wij:

For example:
Daoc Midgard/excalibur BETA: 300+ ppl at any lvls raiding Glacier Giant for a whole day orso
NOTHING will ever beat that

First dragon raid: NOTHING will ever beat that

The list goes on
Crafting have always sucked bollox in daoc tho

one still has the freedom of hope and maybe Mytic could start working on a new game instead of spending 24/7 trying to wreck the one they've created with non-sense expansions

Well EQ1 has been going for a long time and is still going strong, unlike dark age of cackalot. You go on EQ forums and you will see nothing like the whines you see on here.

EQ2 will last as long if not longer than EQ1 basically cos they got the support in place (unlike GOA) and they add new content almost every week. And you are a fool if you think it will flop.

I have not, and will not try WoW. No time for that, but I have to agree with Chimaira here for once. Daoc was great fun for a long time, but, sooner or later when you have done/seen everything...it gets abit boring. Will be the same in all games. I understand those who wants, and have the time to experience new worlds though.
