proposal for RVR - a whole lotta pbae

ok ur thoughts on forming this group

1 bard
1 warden
1 druid
5 pbaes

the bard mezzes the pbaes dive in, in this formation

the pbaes (all of whom must be full mana 48+) fire off two pbaes in 4 seconds.....everything dies. group moves on

now even if we break mezz the slowdown and blinding light of the pbae should wipe the floor with anyone before they can react.

this is 1fg vs 1fg btw

ur thoughts pls

cocky plan - might work

keep in mind /effects off and an experienced group
alb clerics with insta PBAOE stun
mid healers with the mez


and you need to fire them more or less at the same time.

Youll destroy a group in seconds if it works

some thoughts, hope they are usefull:

a). Kind of relies on the enemy grouping nicely for the mezz / pbaoe to be concentrated, ranged attackers standing at the back of the enemy group out of mezz range may cause problems for the pbaoes / bard without anyone directly threatening them.

b). Any strategy that starts with 'after they are all mezzed' may as well read 'after we have won'?. With no tankage I think your in a lotta trouble if the bard is threatened or the mezz doesnt land well and the enemy group spreads out a bit.

c). Dont rely on slowdown, may people use /effects off or have high spec machines.

d). 4pbaoes is nice, very nice damage output, but limited in options as they all have the same spell lines. Consider swapping one out for an alternative with more range and different options (im biased but would go for a void/light eld to help with the range problems this party has (bolt and nearsight) and to debuff energy anything that wasnt mezzed and then assist with aoe). I would consider 3 of the same spec characters in a group a weakness even if the are uber damage+++.

Overall I think if you catch another group all /stuck to eachother itll work like a dream, the more spread out they are and the more ranged options they have the harder it will be for you.

aye boni was concerned about ranged chars, and yes the spread of the mezzed ones

i figure if the mezz misses we still have 5 potential stunners in our group, say add druid root to that also, we also have some ranged nuking ability but obviously not as hard nukage as high light/void specs - but aye if mezz misses we fubar but then again most groups usually are

also perhaps this mobile nuke squad travels in support of another 1 or 2 fgs all of whom have bards and perhaps one of the fgs has about 5 rangers in it and the other has 5 tanks or somit? the idea of putting all the pbaes in one group is to easier co-ordinate the mass nukage, even 3pbaes would b gr8 actually

anyhow will this happen? doubt it as the group with all the pbaes will take all the rpts mostly?

yeah was thinking that over lunch. If you had a group with the spec you list and almost any another group. Then send the normal group in first, or keep them a bit ahead of the pbaoe group and come in after them.
The enemy will already be focused and less likely to see a group mages entering battle close together and produce an adequate response.

And no u can´t face a mid grp nor a good alb group. Don´t expect u can mez ppl inside a perfect cicle. But a grp like that ownz in zerg

And with purge fixed this is less effective ever.
