PROOF that Alb tanks rule

Wandering along in Emain today, after killing a couple of elves and the odd kobold archer, i came across a real challenge, a yellow troll tank, with a sword and shield. We both charged in, weapons ready, and started whacking. First 2 hits were blocked by him, and i parried a few. I was completely out of stamina by the time i got my first hit in, as i'd started fighting him with only 1/4 stamina anyway, and his blocks were using up my stam badly.

So anyway, i just stood there, and to cut a long story short, i owned him, in about 5-6 hits

So, to sum this up, An alb polearm armsman, took on a Midgard troll tank, with NO stamina while the troll had full stamina, and won.. ? Me thinks the only reason trolls SEEM so tough in the big fights, is coz theres so many of um, and they look scary, but 1:1 they're lil girls.

BUT plate armor has bonus against slash innit?

and as Twiztid said, he could have been upto 5lvls lower then u and u were probably orange to him anyway (im blue to a lvl 40, was at 34 anyhow, guess i still am and the ranges are even higher at ur lvl)

and did HE have alot of stamina left?

maybe he's even gimped?

He had full stam, he was using styles every hit, hitting for about 120-140 dmg a hit, but i was parrying. even if he was 5 lvls lower than me, theres a reason he was yellow, coz he stands a chance against me

i've noticed that all the people so far that are disagreeing with me arent from alb?

it does make a big diff i see Charonel (lvl 32) as blue, but she said she saw me as purple (lvl 40)

while i might get concerned about maybe not being able to 1-shot charonel, she would most likely not try to even think about soloing me (if we were opposing realms of course)

most likely a warrior, and they hit do not hit hard...

Try a hammer zerk or thane 1on1 and you will find out what is the truth

polearms rock in rvr except vs archers cus no block D:

walked up to xuthos today think hes lvl 50 so he probs thought bah np only a single tank resisted his mess got in there and hit him for 750 dmg with a poleaxe (huge dmg move) i critical hit and my weapon proc'd at same time was well chuffed then rest of albs arrived n he was dead nice rp tough 140 odd i think

btw Alb tanks rock ?? I know some Uber- Gimped champ with a huge Hammer that solod your fellow realm m8 Khalen who also uses a pole arm. And which cons Orange to him, so much to Alb Tank ownage

champ is another thingy, if I meet an even con champion I'm usually dead too, have something like 60 str left, 40 qui etc, no point in fighting with a polearm if ur quickness is very low...

but I'm going to ask him what happend, he's a guildm8

1. How do u know he had full stamina? If he used Styles every hit - it means nothing. For example with my Hib Hero (sword) on 1/4 stamina i can make 5-6 STYLE hits w/t any problem.
2. I think it was not usual Warrior - Troll usually uses Hammer or Axe to get ALL dam from his advantage - STR.
Sword have a penalty vs Plate.
3. Yellow - it means up to 5 lvl difference
4. YES - Polearm Armsmana is the strongest malee fighter in all 3 realms. It's well known. Also Eldrich is best nuker and Healer is best mezzer.

So grats for You for winning this fight, but i see no reason You can tell, that You can own any Troll nad they are weak.

For making any statements You have to be sure that all aspects were same.

I would call it pure luck... i myself have a armsmen on euro and also had a lvl 50 on US

so i got 3 Questions for me too belive this!

1. Did he use a crush weapon hammer, mace etc.
2. Did he at anytime use a stun skill upon you whice you gain from spec'ing in shield callede "Slam"?
3.Did he just stand there ?

You said you uses Slash right...well

slash has a -10% dmg vs Chain effect
and thrust has a +15% dmg vs chain and an ekstra 10% against troll-like cretures (i don't know if this goes for midgaard chars trolls) and if the troll had usede a hammer he would have had a +10% on you making him to hit very hard many times since hes a 1h + blocking and parrying, im not saying slash armsmen sux...but they aren't very effectiv against peeps from Midgaard!

for starters, 90% of you have just repeated the same thing over and over again, like, but he could have beeeeen 5 lvls lower!! or, he was a shaaaaaaaman! bollocks he was a shaman, wouldnt he have at least used some magic? and do shaman have THAT many hp? i hit about 5-6 times, for 200-300 dmg a hit (with no stam ) and that only just killed him? he had to have over 1k hp. and he was blocked/parrying like a dog from hell, he blocked about 5 hits i'd say, and parried about 4, now if im correct in thinking, shaman dont get parry..... if they do then they're slightly over powered

but anyway, fact of the matter is, i owned him, and yes, im attention seeking and it seems to be working!!!

Think ur wrong.

At lvl 50 lvl 45 is Blue 46 is Yellow.

But the other way around at 45 a lvl 50 is Orange which is where you migh be getting the 5 lvl bit ?

Can't see the range being bigger at any lower lvls

I'd doubt that a polearm tank with no End would beat any tank from another realm at the same lvl as them with full end though, unless the other tank had seriously Gimped their spec or had very low con equip

OK to clarify this. he did a style EVERY hit, he blocked and parried ALOT, he got me down to just under 1/4 life, but i killed him. If that WAS a shaman, then i'm highly impressed by they're tanking abilities, of nearly killing a polearm tank 1:1 using no magic, just sword/shield.

ok just to clarify that it wasnt a shaman

- Shaman is a healer class and cant use Swords
- Shaman does NOT have styles
- Shaman does NOT have Parry

and if it WAS a shaman, no he couldnt have used magic while fighting u, he has no instas

It was luck, or he might have been gimped (even tho gimping a warr takes very good skills to do lol)

I just doubt ud own every troll warrior at anytime, he might have been stressed (i get stressed alot in rvr) and hit wrong styles etc

but i would love to know his name which u seem to refuse posting , or maybe even his colors? emblem?

lol red arms, is about all i remember about him. i cant remember his name.. although im going to check through my screenies and see if i took any rogue screenshots after i took him (which i may have), i'll see if i can find out. it wasnt a long name, but thats all i can remember lol.

he may have been gimped..... dont see why tho, he was parrying/blocking a hell of alot, and hitting for 120 odd a hit, which seems about right..... i just won! seems alb tanks are just plain harder
