Projector lamps

Just wondering about when i should change my projector lamp. its got +2k hours now but its still working. Should i just wait till it breaks or is that bad for my projector?

There's an inbuilt warning system to show you when you need to change the lamp.
You'll know you've got to change it when the image becomes harder to view.

Wait for the projector to tell you it needs changing or there is a obvious fault. I have had both extreems with projectors on that was sold the next one blew up a brand new bulb 25 minutes after being installed

all that happens is they get dimmer and dimmer. so when you cant see shit replace it.

It is worth pulling the lamp unit out and getting a vacuum cleaner in the hols, they are normally rammed with shit and dust.

Well its still working fine.. theres some kind of eco-mode wich makes the lamp live longer. If i only use eco-mode its worth 3k hours of life time.. Well, ill just wait till its useless

only 1500 dkr for a new lamp - thats around 120-130 £

dude the timer is just that a counter.

every manufactured lamp has a life for optimum brightness, running it a lower power (eco mode) extends this life.

Airflow is a major factor in the life. Clean/remove the filters ftw.

that was probably due to fingerprints on the bulb heating up and blowing it.

Exact same thing can happen to my studio lights, you should always use gloves or clean the bulb as you put it in

In this case Infocus told us it was a bad wire inside the bulb bit as it just over heated until it poped I t was really brite untill it went though
