Wait 5 months, should start appearing by then and 25% or so faster than that demo too as this is early silicon.

Demos always tend to look impressive.

Yep but too be fair Kal'el is coming in at between 5 and 8 times the raw horsepower of Tegra 2 in certain situations, all within the same power envelope too. Lower manufacturing process and heavily optimised for mobile workloads, it looks likes Nvidia have a real winner next time around, Tegra 2 is very good but this thing is more than one generational jump imo.

Lets be fair to reality as well, it wouldn't be the first time a company says such things. Again I'll wait for some proper independent reviews that don't tend to set the variables to suit the claim :)

PS This isn't me saying it is impossible.

Of course but your eyes aren't lying to you either when watching that video, the detail levels and lighting are far beyond that seen on any other mobile device seen so far. The performance claims cannot yet be substantiated with hard numbers but it is still plainly obvious that Kal'el is doing things not even remotely possible on Tegra 2.

I can see and outside the intended slow down the only bit is towards the end, in the case of mobile devices the whole package matters even more than say laptops and that is before you get to the practical issues of programming.

Please clarify, that doesn't make much sense. Are you saying that only the bit towards the end is something that Tegra 2 or other current mobile chipsets cannot do? As for the whole package, Kal'el is a system on a chip with 4 arm cores and so it is the whole package aside from a comms chip hanging off the main bus.

No my point being even on this chip there is a slight slowdown at one part during the end, although probably more to do with being pre production. When I talk about the complete package I'm not just talking about a chip, after all if I put a chip in your hand it does nothing, it is everything to make the final product.

Indeed, let us hope we don't end up seeing something this capable on shitty quality TFT's or crippled by low amounts or very slow memory. That is happening alot in the tablet market at the moment sadly. Btw the slight slowdown you mentioned, yep alpha silicon still so a long way to go in regards of performance and debugging but also on the software side I guess much of the graphics libraries for android etc will need new extensions writing to enable features that don't currently exist on the platform.
