Processor cooling.

Evening folks,

Bagged myself a (free) C2D e6600 processor today, installed and it's working lovely. I'm a little bit worried about my cooler holding out though, it's a Thermaltake Silent Tower that I also used to cool my old Barton 3200. It's a good cooler, but probably a bit past it's prime for top of the range Core2 hardware.
Something a little futureproof might be nice - and as I don't trust reviews or most reviewers as far as I can trust them, I'd rather get some opinions from the folks here - i.e. what do you have, are you happy with it, how does it perform and on what processor and environment, how noisey it is, how big it is etc.

I've been pointed at 2 Scythe efforts, a Ninja and an Infinity - the former is a certain no go as I can only get the revision B version which apparently only fits on 386 DX's and won't get near a Core2 processor without murdering your motherboard. The latter looks alright but I don't want to go on some dodgy review site's say so.
Cheers

Dunno how good it is for overclocking as I don't bother, but for my 6600 this does very nicely.

I also use the standard one. Ive just played the new CoH game for like 2 hours, and when i finished it had maxed out at 41 degrees for the cpu which seems fine to me.

Couple of minutes later its down to 29/31 degrees which is the idling temperature. Mind you, I have a nice Antec case with stacks of fans, which is worth a lot of degrees as it gets the hot air out of there very quickly !

Might just grab one of those - thanks for the input folks. I knew the stock ones were good (unusually so, for stock coolers) but wasn't sure how they stacked up against the 3rd party ones.

Cheers
