Hey guys

Got a problem streaming and it seems like the problem occoured after I downloaded and installed Avast. Previous I could put on a movie, youtube link or whatever and it would never stop for buffering, but now it is REALLY slow. Takes me hours to load one ep of 20minutes

Just did a speedtest and nothing is wrong with that:

Any ideas? Even when I disable Avast it is still super slow.. Help :(

Un- install avast and then try again. If this doesn't fix it, then it's another issue, possibly faults with your ISP.

have you tried it on another computer/device to make sure it isn't your ISP?

Ahh I've read it wrong. Thought it was streaming within the LAN.

Your ISP could be throttling that particular type of traffic.

But it worked fine a couple of days ago, and my room mate doesn't seem to have the same problems

Already tried emptying my cache and clean up my browsing history

Roll back to before avast with system restore.

What browser do you use?

Hmm. Could it be a Flash thing? Or does streaming in WMP or VLC do the same? Have you tried streaming anything between your room m8 and you (LAN)?

That doesnt mean it couldn't be a Flash issue. Try clicking on a Flash movie and change the settings. Disable/Enable Hardware excelleration. Also see if you have to same problem with silverlight players.

Aah the disadvantage of using the default Xenforo theme is that you can't see white text!

With a connection speed like that the number of people on the network shouldn't be an issue unless there are more than 10 of them all streaming at once. I'm got a 20mb/s connection and I can play Xbox and stream HD on my PC and the missus laptop with no issues. Are you using OpenDNS?
