Right, i have 3 programs that i can not connect to, first one is my email (cant connect using outlook and thunderbird) but i CAN use my ISP's webmail.

i cannot connect to Xfire and i cannot connect to Warhammer online closed beta servers, even tho i'm in the beta program.

i've tried to contact my ISP support to try and see if they can help, they asked if they could remote access to see if they could find the issue, and it turned out that SOMETHING is blocking that from happening.

i cant see anything being blocked that shouldn't be on either my antivirur nor my firewall....

anyone having even a remote clue what the hell is going on?

part from a load of M$ updates last night and a warhammer patch today there hasent been anything else uppdated.

everything bar Xfire could connect all day untill about ~5 hours ago.

How are you connecting? Via a router or USB Modem? What's your firewall, windows inbuilt or part of your internet security suite? Are you on XP/Vista?

The problems as you've described sound like a firewall issue, sounds as though anything that doesn't run through port 80 (HTTP) is having problems. Try disabling your firewall completely for a spell and see if that fixes the issue. A number of my clients have had tremendous problems with the Norton internet security suite firewall. Please tell me you're not using that :)

i'm connecting via ethernet cable. and no i'm not using anything norton... fucking thing blocks sites i need to go to and all their support says when i complain is "be happy we care".

and i have disabled my firewall (or atleast ticked the "allow all" box) without much success.

/edit: oh right, using XP with some old firewall thats been golden for me thats called sygate personal firewall

oh and i gave the ISP supporter a chance again and aparently i keep losing connection so they can't remote access my system.

/edit: starting to think theres actually some nasty program blocking things but i can not for the life of me figure out where, how or when i could get it because i never visit any dodgy sites.

Open port 25999 on sygate 1 and see if Xfire connects.

Also if you running Sygate 1, tun windows XP 1 off.

DLM.exe can be a few things depending on location, C:\Program files as location then you fine. C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 coule mean its a dialer.

**NVCPL as above could be a few things. if you have Nvidia graphics card then you should be fine. If you don't, get it checked out.

Other then that, i see nothing wrong on start up. Infact, seems very well kept.

Could be your router. What brand is it, and have you tried setting up portforwarding there?

Sry reinstalling my puters so only glancing here when ever am downloading stuff.

Errr am drawn here to a firewall issue or winsock/tcp/ip problems.

Have you tried uninstalling the firewalls, rebooting and checking connection ? sometimes when you turn them off they lie!.

You could also see if tcp/ip or LSP winsock have any issues, but this area isn't something I'd recommend lightly. Screwing with winsock can totaly screw ya connection. Netsh can be used to reset ya tcp/ip to default settings. (sp2+) Might be somewhere to start. knowledge base on netsh ip reseting ***read it before you attempt to play***

I would go with the firewall removal, reboot and check before i do anything with the other stuff tho.

You have an ethernet cable going straight in to your wall socket? I know sod all about Swedish broadband so this could be a little tricky.

Do you have any spare machines you can use to test your email or something? Reinstalling is a bit dramatic, I'm sure there's an alternative solution. Plus, it could be your net provider rather than anything wrong with your pc.

Try port detective to see if there are any issues with the ports used by the programs. (PortDetective.Com - Port Detective tells you whats Open, In Use or Blocked)

in msconfig (startup tab) hit the disable all button, reboot, quickly test one of said programmes and see if they work, if they do go through them to narrow down which it is.

try F8 on boot, pick safe mode with networking, see if you can get any where like this.

create a fresh user account and try said programmes on it.

all of these i have seen on different occassions help solve similar issues, hope they help

/edit: found it on another server. but it cant connect to anything either.......

never tried it in safe mode tho because my fucking keyboard aint working in DOS (Logitech G15)

Well I'd be looking at the next hop now, you say your network cable plugs into the wall from the PC, Is this in a house ? flat ? or something. Are you on any student grounds. Does the line go direct to your ISP or is there a switch/routing system between you and the outside world.

Whats your IP address, Not all of it, the first 2 Octets.(octet.octet.octet.octet) Infact does it fall into any of these. 10.X.X.X, 172.16.X.X to 172.31.X.X or 192.168.X.X This would indicate a none internet routable IP address and would mean you are connecting to a router somewhere along your line. You'd need to find out who owns this and ask them about the firewall and blocked services.

If its asigned by your ISP then you going to have to ask them about it. Realy sounds like someone somewhere is blocking your access.

Also enable USB support in the bios will enable your G15 in dos. Tho you will need a ps/2 keyboard to do this :)

Ok so you've got an external IP address and you've tried reinstalling windows If this hasn't worked it's very likely to be an ISP problem rather than something on your PC. That is, of course, unless you *over*installed windows, rather than formatting and reinstalling.

i always delete my old partitions, format and make a new one.

anyway, i tried a tracert to www .telia.se (thats my provider) and every single step times out. all i get is the target IP at the very start, everything else just looks like this

Given that you've done a proper wipe/reinstall, strikes me that it's a problem with your provider and nothing to do with your machine. You could confirm this if you have a laptop or another pc to try on the connection but I'm pretty sure it's an ISP problem.

I assume that's just your on-board ethernet adapter, and I'm assuming you've got an nForce chipset.

I'd get on to your internet provider and complain tbh, there's nothing more they could reasonably expect you to do your end.

Yeah that'll explain it then. Get on to your internet provider. Interestingly, I'm having a reasonably similar problem now - some websites are simply not responding. It's a routing issue and my ISP is aware of it and working on it right now.

yeah but my problem isnt responding websites. atleast not in the browser :) my problem is that my email, xfire and warhammer beta server isnt connectible. and ofc tracert/ping to ANY website :)

i mean, according to the tracerts i shouldn't even HAVE any internet...
