as some of you may know i moved job into a nightclub. the way in which we get paid is based around signing in and out on time sheets. ive had problems from the start, main one being they dont pay me for the extra time i work even though they say they should.

usually i only work 2 nights per week. recently i got asked to start working fridays, which i said yes to because i need the money. friday was added to my time sheet and i signed in and out as usual.

i havent been paid for it, and so far i havent been paid for 2 nights work since ive started. adds up to about £50, but thats a lot for me. im expected to work tonight but i dont see why i should if im not being paid and i dont like working for free. im also not confident i will be paid for it if i do go.

anyone know what my options are apart from changing jobs?

Ask them about it?

Just a funny idea, i know.

Also how often do you get paid? Twice a month? Once a month? Might show up on your next pay.

If you've talked to them about it and they're still not paying you for work you've already done, I'd leave out of principle.

Cant think of anything you can do sadly, maybe something legal but tbh, if they're the sort of employer who wont pay you what you're due, do you really want to work for them?

Sorry if thats not really much help, and I know you said "apart from finding another job", just dont think there are many decent options left if you've already talked to them. Have you tried the citizens advice bureau thingy? might be worth a try?

I don't get it, you worked those shifts, they acknowledge you worked those shifts, you said 'hey guys i didn't get paid for those shifts!' and they said what? 'tough shit we're not paying you'?

You have every right to that money...especially if you have proof of working from your time sheet.

If they don't pay you threaten to take them to small claims court. If they see it as an idle threat then I would actually go ahead and initiate court proceedings.

They will soon pay up!

i assume you keep a copy of the signed time sheet? if so they don't have a leg to stand on. if not then there isn't a great deal you can do
