I got 1 small HD, 80 gig. I got my HD divided in 2 parts, 1 10gig part (C:, windows and some programs) and 1 70gig(E:). My C: is clogging up and i wanted to move some space from E: to C:.

I used PowerQuest PartitionMagic and told it to move 10 gig. Now i got some error during the operation and my E: has decreased 10 gig by C: has not increased :(

This is how it looks in the program:

Any ideas?

you just need to EXTEND C:

iirc just right ckick on C: then choose EXTEND and point it at the 10 gig unallocated

You might need to run partitionmagic in Dos mode as you are fiddling about with the primary partition and I doubt windows would play ball when its partition is being mucked about with.

If your stuck, grab a copy of the Bart Corporate Modboot CD, you can add the dos based partitionmagic to it and use it to muck about with your C:\ partition.

You just need to select your C:\ and select resize partition, then you should be able to increase it by the free space available.

Third time the charm. Didn't do anything different, selected C and took "resize partition" and told it to expand the unused "area". And suddenly it worked this time :)
