Problem with cs can u help please?

I started up cs tonight as usual, only to find that whenever I do something (eg fire a gun), there is a 1/4 - 1/2 second delay between me performing that action, and it actually being done.

It's happening on guns, weapon selection, menu purchase, and probably everything else.

I have cl_lc set to 1, everything else is ok, pinging at around 60ish, as far as I know I haven't changed anything!

It's like the server is telling my computer "yes you can do that I've checked and it's ok go ahead" each time I try and do something. It makes the game completely unplayable.

I'm on NTL Cable broadband, in Manchester.

Help!

The net does seem very laggy atm, more problems than just the BT/BW one. Maybe its lag of some sort ?

Tom I have experienced something similar b4 as that 1/2 second difference in key press and result, In my case a reinstall of my graphics drivers did the trick.

Grrr, h8 my pc sometimes. It locked up during that Inferno map And I so wanted more peeps to accuse me of cheating

Yeah I figured it out. Today I installed a piece of software called Total Recorder. I wanted to record some streaming video, off a website http://www.scifi.com/happens/ and this software can do that (apparently).

Anyway I completely forgot it was on, it must monitor the data coming in/out of my computer, and that was the source of the delay. Uninstalling it fixed the problem.

Of course, I still suck at cs (well, sometimes)

Hmm, i live about 30 miles outside of Manchester, round the boundaries of L'Pool/Warrington

I live in Flixton, which is about 15 miles by road away from Wilmslow. It's not anywhere near as posh, although Man Utd's training ground at Carrington is about 2 miles up the road from my house.

I was out on my mountain bike the other day (well every day actually) going past the training ground, when Dennis Irwin came roaring down the single-file road in his Range Rover, and no way was he about to stop for me. Miserable cunt! I had to pull aside and cough the dust out as he flew by.

Lots of man u players live in Alderly Edge, but Gary Neville (I've been and filmed at his house) lives in Bolton, Phil Neville lives in Bury.
