Prison Officer?

Hello there, well i've decided i want a decent career, and this facinates me. A prison officer, but does it matter if you have a relative in prison/convicted? I know it stops you from owning a pub license, maybe its the same for a screw?

Try looking at getting a job on the trains you can earn 35k a year you get about 3 months off a year and a last year worked pension on some companys its the way to go.

My dad was a prison officer. He got kicked out of school for breaking a girls nose and thus has fuck all GCSEs. The +points are:

- quite nice pay
- very nice retirement scheme
- nice overtime rates


-points are:

- annoying shift patterns and prisons aren't exactly that frequent in number
- dangerous if you live close to a shifty prison


As for the first question, I don't believe it matters but it may affect the prison chosen for you.

Cool, well i've no GCSE grades, thats why i chose the army, I got medically discharged from there due to my body been completly fucked, but it's sorted now.
I've seen friends in and out of jail, and to be honest, the closest i'm going to get to a prison is been a prison officer, i've no criminal record, i'll never go to jail so i think its a great career move, i'm 17 nearly 18, say 19 when i get based in my first prison, i should be a prison sergeant when i'm 26-28!

But on topic no GCSE's are needed, but a worthy CV can do wonders nowadays. My Ex-wife applied for this post before joining the police, she used my email to go on there mailing list(which pisses me off), but I always have a look at the posts around Yorkshire and they vary from 22k-28K

LOL! Nah tried reporting her for Ford focus napping and dog napping ages ago but the feckers did'nt wanna know
But did actully mean to Laddey she put herself on HM prison mailing list and most posts up north are around 22-28k, I do know an ex-barmaid what works at Wakefield prison and last time I saw her she said she has never had a more rewarding easy job

ye i'd love to do it, buggering criminals with an unlubricated splintery broom handle would be my idea of heaven, and they pay you for it too!

Thought of some real good punishment other day at work and would beat solitary confinement hands down.....
When things get a bit pear shaped at work I have to don a full green chemical suit, gauntlets and full gas mask that wraps round your body with velcro, 5 mins in this weather and you are literally drenced head to toe in sweat and feel drained.
I'd make them walk around in it for 1 hour, I'm sure that would stop the fuckers making knives out of their toothbrush and taking anal favours for a ten bag
