Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to print an A0 size colour poster ?

Basically for a uni project I have to produce an scientific A0 (16 sheets of A4) colour poster. I emailed the printing services on campus and they said it would cost £76!, surely they must be joking? Would have thought this would cost about a tenner.

If anyone has experience with printing large posters your help would be appreciated :)

Most companies here in Groningen charge between €70 and €90 euro's for a full-color glossy paper. About 5 euro for a line-drawing black plotter A0
Price isn't too far off.

Basically it will mainly be black and white text, with colour headings and maybe a bit of colour on graphs. Will that still count as full-colour as the majority of the poster is just white space?

Still price is steep considering exchange rates.

It'll still count as full color with most printing shops aye...
They need to use a different more expensive printer the minute any color is added to a picture, and they usually charge per square meter, or per paperfeed-length. Not by the amount of ink used.

May not be fair, but with most shops it's just the way it is..

Is this for an undergraduate project? I'm pretty sure you should be able to get support with the costs. ~£70 is a pretty average price for colour A0.

Managed to get a quote of £20+vat from www.print-room.co.uk :)

Much more reasonable, just find it a joke that the on campus service is extortionate and they expect students to be able to afford it? Should be subsidised and only the actual cost of printing no profit. Anyway I don't delve into University politics.
