my world of warcraft stratagy guide arrived today. is well cool, especially if like me u would rather have all info on your lap, instead of alt tab everytime you are stuck. well worth the 12 quid from amazon

Just a little warning. They both released these strategy guides for FFXI, and were dead wrong on numerous topics. :flame:

Hmm weird, lol, I did the search again, and exact same link. Anyways, search under books for world of warcraft and two books come up, different prices, look the same..

Looks like it is encoding your Session ID into the URL, making it unusable for anyone but yourself.

Heh, getting to level 15 via quests without a walkthrough can be a real pain!

I just don't understand why people buy these since one can get all the info they need printed from the net. A nifty little book is always handier than a bunch of papers I'll give you that, though.
World of Warcraft Official Strategy Guide (Official Strategy Guides) OR World of Warcraft Limited Edition: Official Strategy Guide - they both look exactly the same to me.
its the same company though (so most likely the same book). I dont really get it either the one who is cheaper is delivered faster aswell.

also it seems that amazon doesnt allow you to link to a search (atleast through hotlinking, as I couldnt even use my own link to search and I dont have an amazon account, so wont use the search link instead these are the two books I think shy is talking about)

Part of the fun is figureing things out for yourself imo.

It is, of course, but it's nice to have hints on who to go to for a quest, not neccessarily how to do the quest. Both myself and boyfriend are currently stuck at level 9 having done all the quests in the area, and it would be useful to know which town to visit next to get more quests. Thottbot is good, but books are pretty :)

What race are you? For Night Elves: Shadowglen - Starbreeze - class quest in Teldrassil - Darkshore - Ashenvale will get you pretty far :)

I would think the only difference is that the 'limited ed' version is the one that was printed to go as part of a package with the limited ed of the game? i.e. no difference except they leave a chocolate on your pillow at night when you put the book down.

DAoC lost some of its magic for me when i started using questguides and item databases etc. Ive promised myself i wont do that for WoW :) Although im sure the guide is nice and all, and probably helpfull if you have never played a mmorpg before.

The only problem with a book for a mmo, is that they're constantly patched, altered and all that. so you may find that in future versions quests get assigned to different npc's (happened a lot in daoc), new quests are added that are better than the initial ones, and all that. For a 'static' rpg, like kotor or final fantasy X, a guide book can be handy, but with an ever changing world, an ever changing on-line resource proves a lot better imo

how can you "do all the quests" the quests usually send you to the next zone to talk to blah blah blah in the next town...

I almost always have 15-20 quests o_O

WoW is'nt that difficult its alot easier then DAOC the only reason i use thottbot is because i did all the quests up to lvl 45 in beta cba running around in the wrong direction again :p

Agreed. I will try not to touch any guides nor forums (apart from the guild one) for as long as I possibly can when the game hits retail. :)

Most posts on Barrysworld/Freddyshouse/WoW official forums usually just annoy me (nerf this, nerf that, whine omg suxx0r!). I can live without that, I think. :m00:

Head for Westfall 'Shy if you fancy heading south. Also a couple of quests in Redridge mountains, should see you through to your mid 20's.

If you don't want to head that way try Loch Modan.

Aaah Westfall, yes, I remember that place from the US beta, the place with the mechanical golem things in fields? Seems I'm done up north then so I'll head that way, thanks!

the Seal quest for the druid is pretty much impossible without a guide..

i remember doing the quest and that bit where u gotta swim right out to sea god it was creepy seeing all these druid bodys who had'nt made it up in time for air.. must have been like 10-15 down there .
