Aye, just us two. I was on pints then Jack Daniels and she was on wine and Smirnoff ice. We did start getting aftershocks and Jaggerbombs with each round, but still, I cant believe we spent £170!

There ya go, when you start going for JAck/jäger/etc named brands instead of your usual beer/cider route, you start racking up points really fast.

Wine is expensive in the pubs, I drink it when playing poker, though oddly enough in our local they charge you more for the bottle and they do for 4 glasses of wine (which makes up a bottle)

Jeeeeeeeeesus Marc that's shocking!! My local rocks, it's cheaper to buy the bottle than 2 glasses and can get one for between £5-8. I hate it when you go out and order your drink and it's assumed you are buying all the drinks so generally say at the beginning of the night I can't afford to do rounds and folk are fine with that because I am buggered if I'm going to just have a half and the other person decides to get a double JD and coke lol.

Yes I am cheap, I am also broke and hate the social pressures that you must spend spend spend when you go out.

The rounds thing always did puzzle me, around here(just FYI), you buy your own drinks and possible "impress female" drinks and that's it. So do't come to Finland and expect people to get onboard the rounds train :p

Is it expected around there?

well I was in a bar with my friend and ordered a half, the barman looked at her to take her order and I was like 'erm I am actually just buying my own here...' it's just expected that you don't just buy your own drinks.

In UK, most of I've ever spent was £120 in central London, and that was largely down to double jagers (like £20 a round for me and a mate ...) but London is a complete rip off and weekends are a joke, on a normal weekday, £30-60.

Thailand, went out Friday night with my mate and both of our missus's, between us we spent about £170-£180 I'm guessing. Me about £50 :p was largely due to the £40 or £50 bottle of Jack D he bought in a club and for me the rounds of B52's.

And damn, 2am seems so early I forget, wasn't really drunk till 4am~ I left about 10:30pm, we started about 11 and I got home 7:30am next morning (10min taxi). Drinking in Bars followed by a Club and then a outside road bar :p with no rest. That's what you call a weekend, :D and a fucking evil hang over to follow yesterday :(

I am terrible at this i pay for every round with a note so when I first wake up the morning after shocked thinking I have spent £100. After going though the pockets of my jeans and finding £40 £50 in pub change though I fell better.

I have a great night out once where we were buying Jugs of JD and Coke for £10 it was 10 shots of JD and a load of coke so epic value. A night out on them with a £10 cab and 4 cheeseburgers from BK i got back to where i was staying with about £5.40 from £100. Was in Edwards in Colchester and they had a old school hip hop DJ was a great night.

We had planned to go to the cinema and went for a bite to eat first. But after a pint and a glass of wine we got a taste for it and just dumped the car and went on a sesh, so didnt have chance to get drunk before we got there!

We do a kitty normally everyone throws a £10 in a glass and you buy rounds from that till its gone then rinse and repeat. But some people drink much slower so might not want to join. Also if you are a pint drinker you don't get good value for money of 5 people want double vodka and red bulls. So a kitty or buying rounds can work as long as people don't take the piss. But if you have people like that in your group buying on your own is the only sensible option.

If im out with my mates we tend to go in rounds of 2-3 people as people drink at different speeds, but tbh, by the end of the night we can never remember whos round it is anyway so we just buy each other drinks when we go to the bar, thats when I spend loads.

Of course its different with my lass cos I just go to the bar all the time

Yeh I do this with a group of old boys I go drinking with everyone drinks pints. £10 each. Always get a few decent drinks out of it. Any left over goes into the kitty till next week.

If that's Blackpool then £180 is pretty impressive, heh. Sure there are places that like to charge a premium but still :p

Blame the jaeger, it's too easy to continue on thems once you begin.

Also, if you for some odd reason bought a pint of Old Rosie, that also aids memory loss 0o

yea, its sick these days.

I mean, on a saturday nite plan, with dinner, drinks and taxi included, we are looking for anything around the 100€ nite. And thats a cookie&cutter nite out, if you include a fancy restaurant and good wine, a posh club and a couple of taxis we are well past 200€!

I mean, wtf?! :twak:

Well you don't HAVE to have expensive wine, fine dining, taxi and ther best scotch the house has to offer ;)

My night outs rarely go over the 80€ line and that's when i take shots or some such. Easily can go out and have enough drinks with 40€.

By that logic you don't have to go in the pubs at all i could sit in the beer garden with a bottle of Tesco Value booze and Value coke and take home change from a tenner :)

More and more recently my group of friends have been meeting at a house and getting Tesco priced booze makes for a much cheaper night out and as long as your not the only single person there it can be a laugh.

no, but I'm a snob and I will have the best stuff I am willing to pay for. I enjoy, for example, carefully going through a wine list to find a hidden gem at the 30 euro mark much more than shelling out 70~100e for a bottle I know will be good.

also, I can enjoy a 5e Chinese takeaway and a can of beer with just as much gusto as I can a 500epp Michelin star meal, but that doesn't mean I will go for either every day. I'm half Scots and half Dutch donchaknow...that means I'm thrifty as hell :D

edit: actually forgot this, but an average beer night with a mate here runs between 15 and 60e for two, depending on what you're drinking. a meal with that (tapas, with a bottle of rose) will add 40epp to that. this is what pleasantly surprised me about Berlin: you could have beers, foods and fun for next to nothing compared to Dutch prices!

Took my partner for dinner for to celebrate five years together early last year, got there a bit early so decided to get a drink at the bar - a gin & tonic and a vodka & cranberry juice came to like £18, haha. Knew I was in for a painful night after that!

Spending inordinate amounts of money is too easy if you get carried away. I tend to do it every time I get paid, then wonder how I spent all that money in one weekend for the rest of the month while I'm getting by on £20 nights out instead :p. At the end of the day, you only live once and all that.

Maybe my post was missunderstood.

I didnt mean thats the only plan avaible ofc.

In fact, I only do that once or twice a month, but when i do stay in Madrid, I like to do fancy things.

However, usually i just run to the country house as soon as the clock ticks 14:00pm on fridays.

There, everything is chilled, and moreover: CHEAP.
We could have the best Saturday nite, with a couple of steaks thrown into the BBQ, beer and a couple of Stolichnaya bottles bought from Carrefour. Then hit the local pub and end up at 07:00am watching the sun rise over the mountains.

Price of the nite? 30€

:)
