My theory of minimum prices on House Lots:

(Number of albs online at peak time on avg / Num of House Lots) * (Num. of Albs < lvl45 * Num. of Albs > 45)

Saying we have 1,200 albs online at peak time
House Lots in total is 600
Num of albs below lvl 45 is 850 (which gives num of albs above lvl45 to be 350)

then my theory of Lot price in platinums as follows:

(1,200 / 600) * (850 / 350) = 4,860 gold per Lot

Would be happy to c whether that comes true :p

... and yes, im sooo bored at work ! ;)

hm since ur soo bored,

how about the people in guilds, they buy with the guild a lot but prolly not for them selves then.. calculate that also in it, and also the albs say, 20% that hasn't got the money for it. Then you'll get closer i think :)

i'm not gonna giv 4P aswell for a piece of ground lol :p - rather do something else with the money...

Tho im gonna buy a house with a few friends (i think), should be affordable...

ohh, and btw... theory doesnt hold... the incresing num of lvl 45+ should increased the lot prices, but formulae says otherwise

Interested to hear why you think a realm with a level distribution having equal numbers above and below 45 would have the highest lot cost for a given realm population?

Seeing as its a Reverse Auction system, it would be in everyones best interest to keep there platinum in there pockets until all the lots have reached a very low sum.

But of cause that would require to much cooperation to take advantage of the system like that.

Be nice though if we could make it work so all lots went for the 1 plat minimum :D

i recon u didnt read the 2nd post i made ;)

i stated that formulae didnt work hence higher lvl 45+ should increase price. formulae states the higher lvl45+ lowers the price on lots, which logically isnt so ;)

and again... im bored :p

yea, but that also req that only 600 peeps gets a house :(

and im getting 2 lvl 1 house (2 acc ;) ) for lowest rent and biggest vault :p

Can't remember where I saw it but I've seen a 3rd housing zone has been made. It goes off the 1st housing zone to the west, running next to the river.

Can't remember it's name, perhaps one of you lot with time to waste wana look it up :D

there r 3 housing zones,

1 leads to cammie hills, and from that one to the 2 other zones.

200 possible houses in each zone

Well, ignoring greedy bastards like Zlair... 1,200 online at peak times, but everybody seems to have a buffbot these days so that's only 600 real people (or even less, depends if you count those who play necros as real people :D )

600 houses, 600 players - perfect! :clap:

Well, Reverse Auctions (Dutch descending auctions) have been studied to death -- however, I'd suggest we apply Game Theory instead of Zlair's theory here. :p Find the Nash equilibrium and work from there. ;) However, I can say right away that Reverse Auctions have been proven to be truthful, i.e. that bidding your own value of the item is the weakly dominant strategy for each agent. (For a better explanation, see the movie "A Beautiful Mind". :D)

Ok, if this is the way we go then...

To achieve Pareto optimum given the fact we r more albs than lots, we need somehow to create an equilirum (misspelled prolly ;) ) so every1 cant be set worse nor better.

Id say we give Greedy Zlair his 2 huts for 1 plats each ! ;)

ohh, and where... well, i dont rly care as long as their r next to eachother :p

Um... sorry to be pedantic mate but shouldn't that me...

(1200/600) * (850 * 350) = 595,000 gold per lot....

/me thinks Zlair mate needs to sort his formula out :p

The lots start at 95pp each, the price drops 500g/hour until the minimum 1pp value.

Most servers only have 4 houses bought at present.
