Continuing the voting for the FH Premier League 11, lets select a centre back pairing.

Players from the current premier league season please. Vote for and discuss two players to form a centre back pairing to play in a 4-4-2. Vote for two players you think would be the best pairing, but the two individual players with the most votes will be selected. It can be a pairing made up of any two players you wish.

To make it easier to collect the votes can you all please put the players you are voting for in the format: vote playername and unvote playername to change your vote.

Do they have to be a pairing that actually play together, or just the two best central defenders?

If Laursen had kicked a ball past January I would have picked him as one of them but as it is -- Vidic and Ferdinand.

edited the first post to clarify. Select a pairing of your choice, they do not have to be from the same club. Just who you think the best two centre backs are.

I think Vidic is a given for this one, his partner is not so clear. There have been defenders who have had better seasons than Ferdinand. Upson, Agger, King and Terry all spring to mind.

He is my favorite defender and can score some marvelous goals, even if he hasn't played that much

Close call between ferdinand and Jagielka but Vidic is a better player knowing that Ferdinand is taking care of the footballing side of things.

Jagielka and Vidic

rio and jagielka was a close call, vidic by far the best cb around at the moment, and decided to go outside united for the second one. Rio partnership with vidic is immense. Vidic is the hard hitting man that goes for everything and rio is the skillful one that sweeps up and can bring the ball out the back.

jagielka though has had a couple of solid seasons therefore felt only right to let him have a shot

Several months ago i would have gone for Ferdinand and Carvalho but neither have played enough to warrant a place.

So i will now vote for Terry and Vidic. Until recently i wouldnt have voted Terry but in the past few months i think hes been back to his best, Vidic will do loads of the dirty work and do it well and Terry will marshall the defence and clean up

Carvalho has had a bad season, when he has played he has been non-existant. Rio and Carvalho would not give you enough raw guts defennding imo, and Terry - Vidic does not give you enough intelligent defending.

Carvalho is great and has only had a poor season because he's been riddled with injuries. I think he's technically the best tackler in the world. However he needs the right player next to him, when he's with Pepe for Portugal they seem to be all over the place.
