Going on monday. Any recommended places? Bars etc? Bare in mind Im going with our lass so I dont really want to know where all the titty bars are!

the Old town in prague is a bit more expensive on the main streets so dont be afraid to wonder off the beaten track to find cheaper food/drink as it'll not only be cheaper but generally bigger portion sizes!

also worth a walk up to the castle (yes walk, bit of a trek but worth seeing the city as you wander about )

Laddey, check in weight is 20kg, you must be that wet through. I could fit you in me suitcase if you like?

The area south or the road between old town square and charles brigde should be very nice.. Havent really been going much to town here yet...

Also there is alot of bars SW of the subway Narodni Triada - roadnames are Jircharich and Optovicka. This is the cheap bar area in central Prague I think. Look on a map..

Friendly advice, avoid Hlavni Nadrazi (main railway station) and the park around it at night. Also Harna != bar - just a place with some slotmachines.

Where are you staying?

I am staying about 20 mins walk from the old town, a hotel called the three crowns (english translation). I dont tend to stay right in the centre of places, like when I went to budapest and Krakow, we stayed on the outskirts, because I want to experience the culture.

Just got back today Marc, went for a stag, but we went off the beaten path. Had a relative of the stag who lives there show us the non-tourist bars. For a club go to Radost FX. It's a club downstairs, food upstairs (although we never went there for food). It's hip-hop flavours mainly, but very good crowd made up of Czechs, Americans and British ex pats. Not sure how long you are going for. We went there on a Thursday and Sat night, both were very good. Thurs was the busier.

There is a Thai/Oriental food place called Lemon Leaf. Food there is amazing. We also ate at a Greek/ Turkish belly dancing and shisha place, I cannot remember the name but it was fantastic also.

Cab drivers will rip you off. If you are out at night, ask the restuarant/ hotel/ club how much it will be to the next place you want to go. They will give you a fiar maximum price, and get it agreed with the cabby before you go.

Amazing place. I thought Krakow would never be beaten, but prefered Prague. The clothes shops are mint, if a tad dearer than their UK counterparts. Cheapest drinks I found were 30p a pint and 70p double vodka and coke, but to get these we hopped on a tram far out of the city. If anyone here who lives in prague, this high rise flats, are these for the working class or the poor people? I am convinced its the equivalent of the working class but our lass was a bit scared sat in the pubs around these parts but I loved it.

Cant really see what the attraction is for stag parties in prague mind, all the ones we saw were drinking in irish bars or the "george and dragon". You may aswell go to blackpool if you are going to drink in these pubs.

Oh and if you bring back enough fags and sell them, you can pay for your flight, hotel and spending money with the profit you make!

Fun loving criminals were also doing a free open air concert which was pretty cool.

Defo gonna go back! Just wished I had stayed a couple of days longer as the football team, right outside our hotel were playing sparta prague sunday night, would have loved to have gone to that.
