Powerline Adapters

Right so I moved into a new house and my computer is ridiculously far from the router so I get no wireless connection. I bought some (low end) powerline adapters but when I connected them I only get limited connectivity, they can't identify the network and I can't connect to the internet. This room is on the same circuit as the router and it is able to find the network but I can't get any further than that. The manual and the CD don't really provide me with any relevant information.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Oh also the adapters are these: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150039 and it's a wireless n router, I didn't think of checking to see if they would be compatible before I bought, is this the problem?

Too late to edit now, but I seem to have fixed the problem. I have no idea what I did but it works now, so this thread can be closed/deleted/ignored now
