was wondering if anyone here has got one of these? i bought one on a wim (as i do with everything i buy) earlier today. i have to say its quite an amazing little gadget. ive got the 250 signature model and the best i can get is 8.5k revs :\

even that makes my muscles burn to fuck.

well, you know what mimes and sailors say about boys with thick wrists ;)

anyway, tbh the PB is a reasonably nice workout. the virtual weight you generate can go up to 18kg I read on the interweb. It will certainly strengthen your hands, wrists and lower arms.

meaning that if you do it too much you may end up looking like Popeye the sailor, which is fine with me as long as you don't start sucking spinach through your pipe o0

it's a ball containing a gyroscope. you hold it in your hand and get it to spin the gyro. this causes the ball to generate a virtual "plate" around itself that weighs about 15kg. Moving your wrist/arm then moves the plate, giving you a workout. I have one.

I have one, and if you do it properly it's a very good wrist/arm workout. Not too sure about the fingers though, but you'll have to give it a try.
Also, working a powerball can take some effort tbh. When it's up to speed it generates a 15kg virtual weight from the centrifugal forces.

Look for "NSD Powerball" in google :)

beginners use a cord to get the gyro to a speed where you can maintain it by using your wrist or arm to give the gyro a virtual shove by moving the virtual disk. this causes the gyro to spin faster, meaning that you can speed it up or keep it at a certain speed prolonging the workout.

As tris- mentioned, keep at it for any period of time and your wrists will burn harder than going for the 17 wanks in a row world champion pub bragging rights.

Powerball, helping people wank since...whenever these things were invented.

Try using it for an hour straight and then move your hand to your wonka. Autowank :D

I've got one, though it doesn't have a rev counter, it does have funky blue lights though. I used to use it to work on my forearm strength for biking, but I don't really bother that often any more.

What is actually the point in these though? They will give your arm a seriously unbalanced workout and won't make you any less fat.

here is a couple reasons -

  • its fun
  • addictive
  • helps repair damaged arm thingys

  • its not unbalanced if you use different exercise techniques
  • improves your grip
  • addictive
  • its better than not doing it if all your doing is wathing tv
  • you can notice improvement over time. takes some serious power to keep ahold of it at higher revs. if you loosen your grip it fucks up the and the gyroscope goes nuts

anyone using one of these to get less fat has more problems than being overweight :)

its good for me as i have weak wrists and a girly grip. this is the most non impact method to sort it all out. plus i like addictive things like this.

chet: i got the signaute series and it cost me 27. you can get basic models off play.com for 18 and the new uber all metal one is 60 odd.

I bought one of these a few years ago after i sprained my wrist. My physio suggested it to me. Worked wonders for the sprain and was a bit of a talking point at parties there after! Apparently cricketers use them to perfect their spin bowling and stuff....
