Power splitter

I've got 4 power bits on my psu (sorry im not too technincal)

and i've just purchased another hard drive, (all 5 power bits are in use atm, 2 hard disks, 1 dvd, 1 cd-r)

I've seen power splitters around, that provide 2 connections from 1 end bit, would it be safe to use one of them?

and i cant find one anywhere atm, anyone got a link? :)

Whats the rating of your PSU?

And what processor do you have?

Yeah, make sure your power supply is up to the job. If it's a cheapy and you're running a power hungry CPU (AMD's usually) then you might have to get a bigger PSU.

I have a 250w psu, with a p3 so no power hungry amd.

250w is a bit low, m8. Ideally you'd have a 300-350w in a modern system. Especially if you've got so many extras you need additional power feeds.

They're pretty cheap these days and worth investing in. Try to get one with an additional intake fan underneath to help take some of the heat off your processor.

well, picked one up for £1.40 from theoverclocking store

so i guess we'll see what happens in a couple of days :)

Even a 250W psu should be able to take another HD ok :)
