I remember at Uni we used to have a card meter for electricity & gas. We had the unique ability to time it running out at 10.00pm on a Sunday evening when none of us had cars, so if anyone is stuck in Canterbury at that time with one of these bloody meters, I know all the good places!

lol I used to have one of those in a flat I lived in when I was like 18, but it only took the big old 50p's so I had to buy them from the landlord.

If i ran out of electricity at an ungodly hour or they were out I was fooked... many a time I had cold spaghetti hoops for breakfast because of that.

Get the meter changed surely? If you contact your supplier they will generally change it. I assumed the old cash meters were not longer used.
