I don't really know if this counts as a spoiler or not, because it's nothing to do with the plot of the film, just to do with the set up, and I'd personally rather have known this before I went, but it's spoilered in case you're really anal about advance knowledge...

Really enjoyed this, BUT if you are going to see this, be aware that it is *not* a film in its entirity. It abruptly, savagely, ends on a cliff hanger, leaving you feeling a little bit miffed if you weren't expecting it. Wouldn't mind if I'd been pre-warned (ala Kill Bill or LOTR) but I was expecting this sequel, and then a third film, each self contained units.

Now, this next bit is plot spoilerish.

Really enjoyed the Monkey Island homage, and loved the voodoo lady. Fantastic character return at the end, and the comedy with Jack Sparrow was spot on throughout. Can someone explain to me though why the monkey is still undead when everyone else is mortal again?

Yep me and the GF were kinda like wtf when it ended.. was abit of a let down tbh.

But it was a great film.

I think the clue was in the filming, they never stopped and are still working on it... even though adverts for DMC was running.

expected a 'back to the future 2' type ending when I'd been sat there for over two hours and there were obviously several big unresolved plotlines. Barbossa's appearance was very cool though

i have no idea what was happening with the dice game. why did the guy all of a sudden go "call me a liar" etc etc. and whats with the bids?

how did that thing with the krakon work. ok i get they wind something up, it falls and creates a sound in the ocean. but why does the krakon not attack the flying dutchman. do they own it? does it just do their bidding when ever they summon it?

Wasn't the point of the end of the last film that Barbosa was shot and killed. Or did I miss something?

it was alright. didn't much care for how davy jones and his crew looked.
orlando bloom was really shite - he clearly cant do 'intense'.
johnny depp i found entertaining with how he was mincing about so much though. the scene escaping from the islanders was very funny.

Saw it tonight, didn't like it very much tbh. It was depending on the kind of humor of the first movie for the funnies, didn't even try to add something original and the story was terrible, dragged out too long.

Just got back from the cinema 5 mins ago, late night but I loved the film. The first 30 mins was a bit wayward but after that it was pure class and I loved the ending.

One thing to point out, how could Superman cost $215 million and not look 1/4 as good as POTC which cost less to make and had 3 huge stars as part of the cast, thus leaving less money for special effects and yet they did a far superior job?

this is because the special effects dudes were doing the 'one for the effects jar one in my pocket' job of calculating how much money it would cost.embezzled funds ftw
seriously tho i thought the film was good.got quite a few laffs in the cinema i was in.was sat watchin telly an a trailer came on which made me wanna go see it again(were it not for the fact it cost £18summit for two tickets i booked online).

Odeon cost £7 where I was (SE London) and it was one of those smaller screens too

As for the film, it was good, but I didn't think it was a patch on the first one

And that bit at the end of a certain somebody staring death in the face? A five year old could have done better with MS Paint!

Yeah we are real lucky, our Showcase is quite old so it has more than covered its initial building costs and it is all profit now so they can afford to undercut all the other local cinemas. The next cheapest around is £6.75 and I think people are mad to pay that when they can get in for £3.50 just 3 miles down the road. That said though I occasionally goto the Filmworks in Manchester and get a gallery ticket, £12.00 during the week but you get the best seats in the house on huge comfy leather sofas and unlimited snacks and soft drink refreshments from the bar. I usually go with a load of mates, get there 90 mins early and hammer the complimentary drinks, sweets and nachos
