coh is also good

its the first mmorpg out thats come close to beating daoc's fun factor and 'stayability' - I'll be buying it altho i too doubt the endgame i still wanna have fun getting to it because xping etc is actually fun in it which daoc never managed to do.

and i also beleive they will add a decent pvp endgame with the next expansion.

I urge everyone to try this game it really does rock

Guess it is a matter of "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence" syndrome.

On the other hand, CoH is part of the new wave of MMORPGs inbound this year. Would be nice if the designers had killed off all the weak game design choices we have to live with when playing the first generation MMORPGs.

90 % of this forum topics ( DAOC) are whine threads , 10 % are gratz i made it to lv 50 for the X time.

and noone playing CoH will ever post a whine thread...

oh wait the moment they start making patches and changing _anything_ about the game people will start whining.

Even though it's not RvR or PvP - people will whine - look at Everquest boards.

Going add my 2 pennyworth: CoH is a lot of fun. The instanced missions are well done. And yes its new and shiny - but it brings back the fun factor that seems to have been mislaid in DAoC.

Both games have their own appeal(sp?).

About whining,. well CoH got just the same whiners.
Just read the official boards, BUT I blame the Americans for the whining there
Just a bunch of cry-babies.

And yes CoH is shiny it's f*cking beutiful, the effects the world all.
But all new games will have a better gfx engine then an older game.
DAoC is getting a new one in the next expansion so then it will be new and shiny.

DAOC didnt lose the fun factor...its the people playing it who did If DAOC was released tomorrow as it is, with everyone starting off again at level 1 I'd put my mortgage on everyone going "Oooo.... bloody cool game".

Still, glad those playing CoH are having fun
