aye, like said start with an overall dmg nerf, magic and mellee... Nobody likes to spend 10 minutes running around to be nuked down within 5 secs (or maybe thats just bc i play my valy ;) )

Make fights last longer, maybe even remove the /assist command so it actually takes skill to take down targets.

Besides that the stuff other ppl mentioned, nerf classes that are obviously better then the rest (sorc *kuch) and boost those that are left behind (thanes ect)

Make it a fun game again for everyone.
(and somehow fix NF (they aint gonna remove it:p) and make it more attractive to get 8vs8 back)

You're quite evidently not old enough, son. ;) I took a wild guess, and was correct: Sorcerers received the bolt-range mezz in patch 1.60 (aka the Albion Love Patch):

btw, in addition to my post above, i had no tower claimed at that time (4% dmg bonus, brings dd up to 549 iirc), where azo's guild might have. also alb have 10% (?) magic bonus from relic, but its still very high damage for a base spell

anyone know how much dmg power relics actually add? apparantly 3 str relics give 28% bonus, not 20% as i always thought. maybe its 14% for one power relic or how does it work?

LMAO, my bad, I use to play a light chanter you see :p, last dd I used came in at 45. As for that old enough remark :p, my memory doesnt remember that far back as I was too busy getting brainwashed by water beetles :(. I still stand my ground about the lifetap thing though, if they get a lifetap you should atleast make it SLIGHTLY weaker ..

because of some hidden bonus lifetaps get, aren't they actually more powerful than standard dds? I remember a high rr sm saying this once.

I have no idea about this certain point as I never played a sorc high enough to test these things :p, but lifetaps do damage and HEAL you at the same time, but ofcourse that isnt so hidden.

Sounds strange i know but i remember someone claiming this at one point and he baffled me with loads of balls as to why they were more powerful (however i can't remember the ins and outs of it) Ofc lifetaps have a higher utility because they heal.

So unsure about that hidden bonus really, just remember someone saying something about it sometime (deliberately vague here :p)

on the CC matter i think the difference between insta's and boltrange mezz is so marginal, that player skill is always muc more significant. i win mez of sorcs nearly all the time with my eld when i have 375 less radius on it (not using nearsight, its piss if i have time to ns first)

that said i always preferred a sorc over my bard for the CC war, if you are a fast targeter and have fast reactionspeed then you will mez nearly all the time regardless of the class, but sorc has advantage of being able to stay out of nuke / interrupt range while interrupting himself. a bard cant do this except with 'shitty' insta lullaby, but has advantage of being able to purge and intsa quickly if he loses mez. or insta an add group while interrupted, etc etc

i think its fairly balanced as it is, for open field combat, but sorcs in general have an edge and boltrange mez just gets my preference over 1500 + insta's. but like i said, skill > class balance on the CC aspect, from my point of view

The Sorc TL prooved in a post (and ultimately ended up prooving the point he was trying to disproove, that Sorcs/Cabbies baseline LT has higher DPS than a lvl 45 specline DD) that LTs get a small bonus to damage (same with all "dual effect" damage spells, like SnareDD and DebuffDD). I think it was something like 5% bonus to damage for the LT. I think the only spell that came close to the DPS of this lifetap was the SM spec LT.

I'll try and see if I can find the thread on VNBoards.

Lets not sway away from the point! Sorcerers as a class have huuge utility, being able to go for charming a pet permanently, Lifetaps, Bolt Range Mez, debuff, MR, -55% mezz reduction [self] all within the single line of Mind. Giving them a tool of PAIN and survival pretty much makes the perfect class o_O.

lifetaps get the percentage of HP they return devided by 10 as added damage

so if a lifetap returns 50% hp, it will get a 5% dmg bonus. pretty sure i read that, but im not sure if its reliable info ;)

spec lifetaps have a higher return value, hence more damage, thats why dark sm's seem to hit so hard for a relatively low delve spell. 90% returned i think it is (so 9% bonus)

the level 50 nukes was created because of the resists was higher on level 45 nukes, so I doubt they will change it back to only haveing level 45 nukes again :p

Nerf those damn Clerics. I can't fecking kill anything when there are healers around. They have endless power and some ridiculous insta 100% heal thingies. Like IP wasn't enough...

yes there are a hidden 5% dmg bonus afaik, but the bonus is added because lifetaps have a higher resists rate then regular nukes

Agreed, remove the ability to regain health, and make Ressurrection Illness on 60 minute timer with 80% Effectiveness Reduce and 400% Speed decrease.

yep and the lifetaps does hell loads of dmg if u spec 49 mind aswell :p

Edit: it is better to spec 44 mind and grap the level 30 AE root aswell it give higher util fyi :p

A trap I deliberatley made! To start with, its 45 mind not 49 :p. Nowadays all sorcs have a cabalist to debuff for them :p. Also, I now prevent whine about chanter dd damage! You may only whine about their ability to debuff for their own nukes xD! (50 mana spec, 50 mind spec, debuffed dds, look for the connection :p)

If you think about it you would be moving backwards, three times faster than you move forwards, so after you've killed a group you see them running out again backwards :clap: :clap:

Think how hard it is to /stick to the group leader when your moving backwards uncontrolably. And think how hard F8 + stick would be for the tanks
