I was going to say "Can all you religion and anti-religion talking people kindly f*ck off to your own thread and leave people who want to discuss the importance of post on sunday to this thread :( "

on the other thread, but then decided to take...not the high road...but the easy way and make my own. You religion people can stay the f*ck out though. With religion comments that is.

There's quite the need for one day of postal service shutdown, mainly because of re-allocating that one days funds to more important stuff, like healthcare. Atleast in finland. Though as said, we have saturday bank/post free also.

When the avian flu panic(you people can f*ck off too) was running around, they said that in a "crisis situation" they would need 20000 postal workers to keep the post service running. The need for medical staff wasn't even half of that.

It's easy to ignore, but it's one of the most vital services in modern society, and taking one, or even two days of complete shutdown, easily covers some important other stuff in the society.

ROFL, well guess what happened today!

was lying in me bed sleeping this morning was about 10am or so when my mobile phone started ringing n woke me up. Didnt recognise the number calling, answered it and this is what I heard,

"is that Chris English(me)"
yea its me who are you?
"my name is John can you get out of bed and go to your door"
what are you talking about?
"Ive been ringing the bell for ages but nobody is answering"

ok so I put some clothes on and goto the door, and its the bloody courier that is delivering the stuff I ordered last week!(the stuff that made me ask about Sunday deliveries etc) talk about surprise and bewilderment.

apparently he doesnt get paid if the packages are undelivered, so phones my contact number and told me to get out of bed! he recconed i was in bed cos curtains were closed lol. tbh thats pwnage service imo, saves me the hassle of having to go to the nearest post depot, and means he gets paid on time :D
