SOOOO WRONG!!!!

I watched Superman last night AGAIN. 5.1 surround sound. Pure class. DER DERDLE DA DER!!! DEEER DEEER DEEER!!! DER DERDLE DA DER!!! DA DA DEEER!!

Batman rocks too. But only the first two with Michael Keaton in. They capture the feel of the comics very well.

Spiderman, IMHO sucked. It just didn't feel right at all.

Daredevil. I felt like I'd had a bath in the finest cheese and ham. Didn't take it too seriously though so I enjoyed it.

X-Men. Was drunk the first time I saw this with my bro-in-law in the cinema and didn't even relise there was a plot. I own the DVD now and have to say I think this is a better than average film but after a few viewings it starts to get a bit boring.

X2's a good film. Higher body count and lots to see.

There have been some totally dire converstions though. The Avengers anyone? What about The Flash? Captain America? Late 80's/early 90's american tripe. Pretty much made for TV.

But anyway TDC :twak: , there are some great comic book/cartoon based movies out there. You must be a philistine. Or a heathen. Or a godless son of a whore. Or just wrong. :p

yes, yes, maybe,no :p ok, I'll give you a concession: they are all shite -or- the good bits are so few and far between that it's just not worth a single viewing, let alone going back for more. I'd gleefully class the lot of them as perhaps a friday evening viewing on dvd before you go out to drink away the memory of the film types.

How the hell do you make a live action film of robots who turn into cars, planes, etc? Crappy CGI effects detected %l!

Well if they do, they better use the originals... these new bloody b@stardised version of Optimus Prime and Megatron in Armada just blow chunks...

You imagine the Dinobots wreaking havoc on major Earth cities in live action against the Insecticons or Constructicons...

*ahem* excuse my descent into fanboyville

/me shuffles off embarrased

The thing is, CGI only looks shit because they can't render / animate people correctly yet. Giant robots and cars? Piece of piss.

T2 is ok, Dissy scores a point :)

JD, imo they also can't do walking correctly either. first time I saw good quality animated walking was in Ghost in the Shell iirc, but as you say, cars and stuff is pish easy. if they go OTT with Transformers and make it look like it's a manga-esqe thing with some live actors thrown in then I *might* consider it viewable as a novelty.

OMG! I just had a preminishion (sp?). The new Transformers film could quite easily turn into something along the lines of Power Rangers :(

I can normally... something in my head just said *ALERT* NOT REAL *ALERT*

I just couldn't it's the movement it looked too unnatural... it's not the fact he was flying or doing cool shit... the physics just weren't right :| They did loads of cool unrealistic stuff in the first one I was quite happy to suspend disbelief for because the physics were still real :|

It's not just people, it's organic movement - and there would have to be a fair amount of that in Transformers. The only option would be to make it super-stylised, mangaesque... but they won't do that. They'll make it wank.

In fact, I'll tell you what they'll do. The robots themselves will be a small side-story, the main plot will actually involve normal people, and feature some very shit actors.
