Possible way to make radar useless...

Been reading VN Boards (http://vnboards.ign.com/Fans_Round_Table/b5176/69743768/?9 and http://vnboards.ign.com/Fans_Round_Table/b5176/69723861/?14) and apparently if you have your lastname as the name of an enemy realm race (Like an alb with Lurikeen as lastname) it appears to radar users of your realm that they are members of an enemy realm!

Anybody know if this works or not? As if it does I'm definatly changing the lastnames of my chars (yes it screws over radar users of your own realm but even if they are your own realm, radar users = scum no matter what realm they're from).

It would make realmmates see you as another race, but not enemy realms, since they only see you as 'Race Rank' anyway, they never see your lastname.

IMO Mythic should do something about it asap, b4 its too late. It's prolly too late already, and publishing radar users, will cross off 1000's of subs. The longer they leave it, the worse it will get.

People will use radars, coz they feel disadvantaged, by alb numbers, or savages, or elds/Enchanters, or not having the relics, or Midds doing alarm clock raids.

In COH, the people behind the game actually read and post on the forums, like the game developer explained exactly how enhancemenets work. In Doac, we r fed patch notes, no where have i ever seen any form of Q&A in 2 years....

And oh.. the lastname thingy sounds crazy. but I hope it works

Well, not having read any of the linked threads for details, nor having thought about this much, it sounds like this "fix" would still only work against radar users in the enemy realm you pick your race lastname from. In other words, even if I call myself Cerdin Lurikeen, Mids would read me as a Hib and still see me as an enemy.

Nope it only works on radar users in your own realm, so if I put my armsman's name as NetNifty Kobold, any Alb using radar would see me as a kobold on radar, mids and hibs would see me as an alb as it doesnt send them my lastname.

The point was that if we had loads of people in all 3 realms change their last names to races, it would make radar pretty useless as they'd end up running over members of their own realm all the time

So when you are called: "<random albname> lurikeen" and go sit in emain where no ppl pass normally and some tard alb group goes straight for you, they using radar then..

Could be handy to track down own realm abusers..
