Poor Performance

I have PII 450@504, 128mb ram, V3 3000 and on timedemo 1 with normal settings I can only get 52fps and I suffer slow down, this can't be right, any ideas?

Well it seems that way, no good support for Voodoo sets because there forced to use the basic open32gl.dll which slows them by about 20-30fps.

yea but if theres any truth in the ati rage fury maxx review at www.anandtech.com where the V3 beats the TNT2 then surely the latest V3 drivers make a massive diff opengl wise??...

I believe there was am option in the test to change to the 3dfxogl.

a v2 sli, p2 @ 375, 192 MB ram user here ....

i get exactly the same results on my system,

but is it just me or is the full version quite a bit slower than the tests/demo thingys ?

My machine is proper messy atm but at demo001 using high quality setting i get 54.2fps. Is that good?

system = celeron 366@578, V3 3000, 128 megs

I get 52fps, I have to say that you can't actually use High because it sets 32bit so it defaults back on those items. I've now ordered a GeForce 256 DDR.

With an ultra TNT2 i get 49fps using HQ setting... I got this UTNT2 kinda cheap really, but am having a hard time deciding if i wanna keep v3 or tnt2... but i might sell em both and get a creative annihilator pro at trade price from werk

Thing is, i also want a car... then i gotta insure it, run it... ffs i need more money!!

I think it doesnt really make all that much difference what kind of system you run it on you will still get slowdown as i think that this game is desighned with computers of the next year in mind as i read an article saying that the average processor for entering the market at the end of next year will be running at around 650-700 Mhz. I get slowdown on my sys when playing certain maps with alot of bots. Sys specs:-

Intel PIII 600Mhz
MSI 6163pro mobo
256 megz pc100 ram
Atx tower
8.4 gig HD (Master)
17 gig HD (Slave)
36x cd rom
Sound blaster live platinum
Voodoo3 3500tv\agp
microsoft digital sound system with subwoofer
19" monitor
Hayes akura 56k v90 external modem
Microsoft intellimouse explorer

I get slowdown with that setup although i am thinking of getting one of those new g-force cards as they are supposed to run q3 mint.
