When you have tried a primetime raid knowing that the word is out on irc before you leave the PK, then you have earned the right to joke about such things. That is in the same spirit as: When you albs will stop running away from a midforce 2/3 of your size, then you have earned the right to use the word bravery.

If you think you shouldn't comunicate outside the game then you must be abusing one of your principles right now speaking on these forums.

Taking the relics at the mmg wouldn't be an option anyway, I've been in albion since release I really doubt we could defeat organised mids at mmg unless they tryed to return the relic with some meager return force of 1-2 groups.

Meatballs, you got 2 season 50 characters, and a 37th, and its obvious your on here a lot, and thus need to find new ways to amuse yourself, as you run out of things to do.

Ive seen you in game (Thorn) and as far as i know, you fight a good fight, and dont take the piss, so why do you have to take the enjoyment of perhaps 80 or so others and blow it? Would you walk into a packed cinema and scream out the plot and ending?

You totally ruin the spirit of the game, why would you want to do it anyway? what possible fun did you get out of spoiling a raid that had probably been being planned for days or weeks?

Imagine you get the motivation to lead a raid, assemble a shit load of people in sauvage, easily enough for a relic raid, got rams, got catapults, got the lot ready to go, then some 13 y/o Mid who has an alt sitting in the corner, on one of his "2/3 spare PCs to run IRC on" sees the gathering force, PMs one "whats going on?" and then you see flash up on IRC "Hundreds of albs moving out to take mids relics, fully tooled up..." As you all port, the MG is camped with Mids, and the carefully planned raid ends with a big pile of deaduns at the MG and some laughing mids.

GEE THAT MUST BE GREAT FUN!

Thats bollocks Meatballs, and if you really wanted to play this game, then youd respect other people dont want you sticking your face in the way and insisting that spying is fine, and wrecking a fun afternoons hunting...

Just to add fuel to the flames

It was explicitly announced on the SP Alliance chat at 18:10 that Middies would be attacking the Strength relic keep at 19:00, so of course we told the other alliances too.

Thats not like "oooo lots of mids in emain"

Somebody blabbed the whole plan on either

a) Irc
b) to a hibbie mate

So when 19:50 came, we had half the realms 50 waiting at ligen, and by the time you got to Lam, we had 121 Hibbies in the Gorge zone.

What I dont understand is that one minute you had 6-8 rams on the second door, the next minute you're all gone/dead.

What happened?

Usp showed up in the middle of the 2 outer gates and used MoC and pbaoe'ed for 30 seconds before any mids spotted and killed him

By that time all the tanks were dead, and it was only casters left alive, who were quickly killed by the guards and cornells DoT's.

Before I released I saw one troll trying to use the rams, but 4 named guards beating on him.

You didn’t notice the bit where they specifically stressed that its -real time- communication outside the game environment they object to. Which would not matter of course if the raid was know to the defending side an hour beforehand. So in this case it was either successful espionage or some lovely kid being excessively helpful to his hib ”m8ts”, which IS against CoC.

Contacted GOA about this, was just curious to hear their view on the matter.

This happened yesterday. Midgard had a planned relic raid and we gathered approximately 100 persons in our portal keep. A member of the Albion realm then happened to suicide on our portal keep and saw through the doors that we had a massive force there. He then informed some hibernian members (using an external medium) that they should whatch their relics because he saw a huge midgardian force. Add to this that the Albions was in total control of Emain Macha at that point so some of us assumed that no Hibernians was nearby and thus wouldn't get knowledge of the large numbers wenturing into their lands before we started to attack their keeps.

This doesn't seem to be against Mythic's CoC as stated on their home page, but I feel that it's clearly against the spirit of the game. I'm just curious to find out what your opinion about these matters are?

While this is against the spirit of the game, as you said, it's not, in itself, against the Code of Conduct. Nothing can stop players from communicating outside the game (by using secondary computers, logging off, phone call, etc). Of course, if you suspect a player to use illegal exploits in order to "spy" on a realm, then please do report him.

I didn't know the ending? I knew that there was a lot of mids porting in, its like knowing the gist of a film before you go and see it, how many films have you gone to see and not had any idea on the subject they were based on?

I dont have any spy characters in hibernia/prydwen or midgard prydwen neither.

And why would coming up against resistannce spoil the enjoyment of others? Surely its the struggle which makes the game appealing not having all 6 relics and 4 level50 characters all rr10. Maybe if the mids had taken the hibs relics that would have spoiled all the enjoyment for the 300 odd hibernians on ? :d

Mids coulda ported over to albs and tryed to go for our relics after everyone had established their prescence in emain. Deception is an interesting tactic ;o

Forums can be pretty realtime too, I've responded to posts under a minute of them being posted and had replies to them under a minute.

Umm.. now Im confused. So, basically it is illegal to spy using illegal exploits? By implication, spying using legal exploits is ok? What kind of exploits would then be illegal? For excample, having 2 accounts definitely is legal. Phonecalls and other real-time communications are nontraceable and therefore within the law.

Note that Im not disputing the case where an alb reported Mid army on relic raid. That happened presumably when mids were already moving. Hibs knew an hour before that. That means there was either a spy or a traitor inside Midgard.

Even if that turns out legal the way GOA interprets the CoC, would still be good to know the name of that character.

We then have copious amounts of 50 Hibs in the surrounding area/inside the keep while we attack all because a 'source' leaked info.

The Hibs organized the Raid !
They wanted some RvR fun nearby, so they set out to their RK. But then they realized Keep Defense without attackers is boring, so they informed the Mids that they (the Mids) should have a Relic Raid in 30min (to reduce waiting time for the Hibs).

Im not sure Mythic coded the graphics engine - think they bought it in so probby dont have the chance/expertise to recode it? I might be wrong (I love backing up everything i say with those famous words )
