Bugger me - devolution being called for? Thatcher would have a fit.

Individual freedom but collective responsibility seems to be Nicks order of the day and I'm happy with that (even though I'm not that happy about him getting in bed with the other lot).

I still don't understand why you don't want an ID card :)

Because we already have them in one way or another, driving licence, passport etc, there are also opt in ID cards for younger people to prove their age PASS - The National Proof of Age Standards Scheme. I also don't see why we have to be able to prove who we are. Its none of anybody's business who I am and what I am doing, so long as I am not breaking the law.

If they were optional then fine. Go ahead, but they weren't going to be, it was just another Labour control mechanism.

Expenditure of a vast amount of money for very little (if any) gain.

I actually agree with Raven (which means I may have to go and re-evaluate my political leanings); apart from it being a Labour control mechanism. After all there's not a lot of control in it - bleeding daft idea mind.

Raven started it by being a troll. My comment had nothing to do with him, yet he persists in flaming me. Not my problem.

You sound like a child, Dori.

And you're not that intelligent. You're really not. Truly intelligent people don't need to brag about how intelligent they are. And the simple fact that you're unable to just accept that you're not welcome on this board, that you keep making new accounts, and keep coming back knowing full well you're going to get banned goes way beyond being a persistent troll. Most people who get banned stay away.

Things might just work out if they can keep there promises.

Another interesting question is what the "hard core" Lib Dems and Tories are going to do now, those who are against this coalition and feel that their party has "sold out" etc.

Will they shut up and just worry about raking in a nice salary or are we going see a lot of bile from inside the party's directed at the leadership over the tiniest thing?

We may get some whining from back benchers in a year to two years time. Though if they can make it work, which I think they can then public popularity and success will shit all over any complaining.

If it works and we start to get out of the mess created by Labour then there really isn't a lot anyone can complain about without looking like a douche.

The interesting time will be in the last year of the coalition, Lib-Dems will be trying to get votes but at the same time trying to get their views heard in the coalition.

My stats are terrible?

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Very good, considering I was running in a group of 3 Bonedancers (against zergs of 8+) so deathblows were hard to come by. I was often solo and in a duo as well.

I would also often get 90+ deathblows on /stats with fewer than 5 deaths. I have many old screenshots that I will upload later.

If you listen closely, you can hear the sound of no one caring

also, cool story bro.

I don't believe for a second that Nick Clegg is at all better or less corrupt then any other politician, he just suffered less scrutiny during the claims scandal as no one believed the lib dems had a hope. In truth his claims were as just as bad if not worse then some.

He is not there to 'serve the people' he basically just sold out at the slightest whiff of finally having some power. He'd of accepted any damn deal handed to him so long as he got his grubby hands on some actual political power for once.

Having said that I do believe this government is a 100% better then the traitors that we had in power before. However with such low standards to beat I think even Homer Simpson could of made any new government look better then Labour after 13 years of disgrace and corruption.

So far so good and I like the new laws on cost and performance transparancy, but then that was an easy offer because now it only makes the last government look bad, will be interesting to see if they are still as open about it when the stats reflect more on their own performance.

I'm still dissapointed on the compromise over the Human (sorry terrorist and criminal) Rights act.

My time here is not done, yet. I will soon leave FreddysHouse.

The hour of reckoning is upon us all.

No need to leave - there's a whole sub forum here for BG achievements.

Kag - not seen his claims so which of NC's claims were as bad as getting the moat spruced up?

Never said it was the worste claim, only that it was among the top. (Google is your friend by the way).

How Nick Clegg pushed expenses claims to the limit: MPs' expenses - Telegraph

Theres a run down on his. He played the system very cleverly.

And before anyone criticises my choice in newspapers, I do not read the telegraph, google simple offered it up first as having his particular list of claims in detail.

I don't recall where I first read about his claims, it was probably in Busty Asian Babes monthly.

Bugger me - he really pushed the boat out shopping at Ikea....

I have no issue with them submitting claims for a 2nd home tbh and he could have played the system and made the 2nd home claim for a pad in London. that would have been far more expensive.

I can understand David Laws had to resign. Shame, as I think he'd probably do an excellent job. Now they've replaced him by someone with zero experience or knowledge in banking & finance ! WTF?! That doesn't make any sense. Not in this economic climate. Everytime I see Vince the Cable on TV either in Cabinet or with a Tory he looks seriously uncomfortable. I reckon he'll resign before September.

You know that VC is an ex LSE Economics expert, worked for the Kenyans as an Economic advisor and was a top Economic advisor to Shell? If there's one man in the whole Commons that knows economics and wtf to do it's him.

He meant that Cable is embarrassed to be working with colleagues with no real knowledge now Laws is out.

Indeed. I happen to think Cable would make a far better Chancellor than Osborne.
