ooh in a quick aside: the Dutch elections are coming up, and recently on TV they had a couple party bigwigs do the Dutch PC variant. Was teh funnee to see that some of the personal prefs were in no way in line with party doctrine. I suppose that at that level it only matters how good your managerial skills are and to hell with party policy

It's interesting that someone raises this about once a year. My answer seems to have not varied that much in the last few years:

I'm still a bleeding heart liberal it seems who thinks that we're becoming a police state while still thinking that prison should be about punishment and not rehabilitation. I'm also in favour of the free market while not trusting companies not to abuse it and become monopolies.

I think I answered similar to you Vae, although I am not so worried about the police state thing, I am worried, just not that much The prison questions I was a little harsh on, more about punishment that rehab, but then only 'agree/disagree' rather than strongly of either.
